any word on whether or not St. Mary's will be rescheduling the rain out at Cal Poly? it's a division game so I assumed they would have to, but it's not on the schedule.

The Cal Poly- St.Mary's game has been determined to be a "No-contest" by the WCLL BOD and it will not be rescheduled this season.

Patterson Field is on the Occidental campus. If one goes through the main entrance at Alumni and Campus Roads, park and enter the althletics buildings on the left. Patterson Field is accessible through these buildings. These are kind of wierd directions, but the field is not really visible from the street.

Just to give you a heads up, uslmdia has the score reversed for some reason. You might want to go in and fix it.

Arizona v Arizona State @ ASU 7:00pm
I attended this game last year favoring Arizona to win. ASU pulled through in the final minutes though. I'm going with Arizona again by 1, but dont count the underdogs out yet, these guys play hard till the end. Should be an exciting one in the desert!

What does everyone think is going to be the key factors of the ASU vs. UofA game? Both teams seem to be pretty evenly matched.

Well, there are a lot of unknowns for me in this one, since I haven't seen a game played in Arizona, but it sounds as though the officiating may play a role (not in terms of quality, but in terms of subjective variance). I don't know how many officials there are in Arizona, or if they're short (in which case you probably generally have the same refs for each game), but I know that if ASU truly does play as aggressively as I've heard from opponents and heard from their own articles and postings, that how the game is called may be a big factor here.
In the past this has been a very heated game, and there was even mention in an article that last year it got so heated that there was almost an altercation following the game. If ASU is going man down for half of their hits, it may cost them quite a bit in the long run of the game- on the flip side, if their aggressiveness pays off, it may do quite a bit to shake up the settled offense of the Wildcats.
ASU is (judging from their stats all year) a second half team- which may speak to good coaching adjustments, or solid conditioning, something I don't know since I haven't seen this team. I think we're going to see a game where Arizona pulls ahead in the first half, and ASU makes a surge in the second- the issue in this game I would think will come down to whether or not Zona can pull far ahead enough early and hold ASU back late (and obviously the opposite for ASU).
If I were to venture a guess, I would think that the refs would probably try to clamp down on the physicality (is that a word?) of the game early on and make the tight calls to prevent the game from getting out of hand later.
