I don't think the University of New York is an MDIA team, and the only other game I saw listed that wasn't a div. B game was against div. A Central Florida. All the rest of their games are against SELC div. B teams. I don't think those two count as OOC games since they aren't against other div. B opponents. Do they have a couple of games scheduled that aren't listed on the USLMDIA website?

Will anybody be able to post the St. Thomas v Harding game this weekend in the Live Action Game Forum? I will be very interested in the outcome of that game. If St. Thomas wins it, it will all but assure the UMLL two division B national tournament births. In all honesty it will be one of the few times I will be rooting for any St. Thomas athletic team since my decision to attend St. John's (This rivalry runs deep).

NYU is not a MDIA team, thus they do not count for the OOC requirement for an at-large bid to the MDIA National Championship Tournament.

St. Johns beat SD, SD beat Claremont, Claremont beat St. Johns.
Are 1, 2, and 3 spots solid? Is there a way UVSC can crack it? If not, the top 4 is pretty solid assuming WCLL championship game is SD vs. Claremont and St. Johns and UV win their conference tourneys. A lot of fighting for position among the other spots in the top 12.
I still think Calvin and Dayton are going to be a teams to watch as well.

With all due respect Tommy, I don't see Calvin in the National picture at this point. After getting clobberred by Ferris State this past week, along with the losses by 8 to Dayton and a close loss early to a very good St. Thomas team. . .they are going to have to pull off some upsets and win the CCLA to get back to Nationals. . .

Dayton on the other hand has been extremely impressive to this point. They played Oakland tough (ranked in Div. A) and have really had their way with their CCLA competition to this point.

The CCLA has become another B division conference with a lot of depth and balance. It will be interesting to see if there will be a "Cinderella" that gets hot at the end of the season and wins the AQ in the CCLA, SELC or GRLC. All of these conferences have a bunch of solid teams that seem to be able to knock each other off "on any given Saturday."

Maybe the glass slipper will fit for Calvin in a few weeks?????

maybe I'm confused, but I was under the impression that the 1-9 seeds would be determined by the conference champions and the 10-12 would be for the highest ranking AQ's...but it doesn't sound like this is the case. I would also have to make an argument for UVSC and others here... seeing how they are not scheduled to play any of the top 3 teams, how are they supposed to move up?

The nine conference champs get in, so long as they are eligible to participate in the post-season tournament. The top 3 non-conference winners also get in. The tourney seedings are determined by your final poll rank, irrespective of how you got in.

Mr. Stockton,
Its always good to hear from you.
I haven't been keeping a good watch on Calvin, so that is good info to konw....it is just hard for me to think that they dropped off that far from the great team they had last year.
ANy new news on Matt Kennedy? Is he going to be back for the playoffs?

a successful road trip for southern oregon this weekend.

the team's 13-3 victory over willamette was highlighted by freshman alex white with 8 goals.

southern went on to defeat western oregon 9-5 this afternoon. points spread out across the roster.

this weekend's victories mark the end of a 8-2 regular season for the raiders, also securing the #3 playoff seed and a home quarterfinal in two weeks.
new and improved.

It's interesting to see the discussion(s) in reference to the B side polls. I've stated this a few times, but ultimately what is going to clear things up are more OOC games. Not only with and by adjacent conferences! The B teams have to get out on the road. No doubt the poll is better than last season with the increased cross-over games. However, I hate to say this, but I'm not sure if it's anywhere near as accurate as it will be in the future.

The B side is growing very well in some instances. Not as far as number of teams, but in depth of organization and quality. Personally, I think we're seeing some imbalance in the strength of conferences. People tend to think teams are "down" instead of the teams they are playing are "up". For lack of better words.

PLULax stated:

I think PLUlax said it best. However, I would have to disagree with the Cinderella statement in reference to the CCLA. A Cinderella would have to be underrated and not expected to win. The CCLA won't really have an underdog in the conference tournament. Yes, Dayton is the clear cut favorite at this point. The league will finish the season with 2 to 3 teams that are CCLA tournament worthy that won't make it for sure. In the CCLA and nationally what we are seeing are not necessarily ebbs and tides for teams. We're seeing an increased playing field as far as quality of teams. For sure teams are going to have there ups and downs with graduation and new recruits. The difference however has proven to be the off the field organization, logistics, quality of coaching, and player commitment.
