final, official scores from omaha, nebraska

game 1 saturday april 8, 2006
harding 13
creighton 7

game 2 saturday april 8, 2006
st. thomas 10
harding 7

game 3 sunday april 9, 2006
st. thomas 12
creighton 8

i would like to thank both st. thomas and harding for making the trip to omaha, nebraska this weekend. we were blessed with beautiful weather and some very good competition.

both st. thomas and harding are well coached, disciplined teams. and despite a few of the posts on this message board, the harding players are good guys - maybe just a little misunderstood/misinterpreted sometimes.

st. thomas won the matchup between the co-number 5 teams. they played determined, physical lacrosse and deserved to win the game. that being said, it was unfortunate that harding had to play 2 games on saturday. i don't know how much harding was affected by playing a physically and emotionally draining game against us first. with the exception of 3rd quarter run by st. thomas, the game was back and forth.

this has been a very challenging season for me at creighton. while injuries and academic casualties have hit us unusually hard, i am proud that my remaining players have stuck it out. we have played some really bad lacrosse at times this season. this weekend, it was nice to put together a few good quarters against the two number 5 teams in the nation.

I'd just like to say that I will no longer step on any virtual toes that may be present on this message board. My intentions we not to harm, just to make my own hypothesis. And even though i was correct in my assumptions, i did make those assumptions without knowing that Creighton lost many players to injury and acedemics. I'm sure we can expect plenty of good competition from them in our future match ups.

Oh, and will, i'll be changing my name now too...

Desperate times for Wash U...losses to Illinois State and Missouri, with Illinois and Lindenwood upcoming. Will they be able to get into post-season play?
