Now you've strengthened the Defense case on 2 fronts - misidentification (as pointed out by BV) and "character" of the alleged victim which is already going to be brought into question (fairly or unfairly) due to her career choice.

Just saw this up on the web and thought I'd pass it along. Not sure what exactly to make of it. Not necessarily an e-mail you'd send if you knew something went on at the party...

Or he needs to stop sending email after (in all probability) consuming mass quantities.

I don't know if anyone has posted this or not but a story just ran on the AP wire that the Pressler is resigning as head coach. Let me see if I can find a link.

Can't find it online yet but here is the beginning of the story....I am able to read AP stories as they release them through a program on my computer for work:

DURHAM, N.C. (AP) - The coach of Duke University men's lacrosse
team resigned Wednesday and the school's president cancelled the
team's season amid an investigation into allegations players raped
an exotic dancer at a team party.

Duke lacrosse coach resigns, rest of season canceledAssociated Press

DURHAM, N.C. -- Duke University's lacrosse coach resigned Wednesday and the school canceled the rest of the season amid a scandal involving allegations that three players raped a stripper at an off-campus party.

Mike Pressler spent 16 seasons at Duke and won three Atlantic Coast Conference championships. Last year, his team appeared in the national championship game.

"Coach Pressler offered me his resignation earlier this afternoon, and I accepted it," said Duke athletic director Joe Alleva. "I believe this is in the best interests of the program, the department of athletics and the university."

How the HECK is this "in the best interests of the program"????? First of all, Coach Pressler wasn't even involved in the alleged incident!! And secondly, he took Duke to the National Championship game last year!!!!

He recruited the "alleged perpetrators" to the campus. The buck stops at the head coach I guess.

I'm sure he was offered the opportunity to resign before being terminated.

So, you are saying he knowingly recruited players that might someday commit an alleged crime as this????

If that is your point, then we better get ready for all coaches everywhere to start resigning.

Does anyone other than me look at the Pressler resignation as a prelude to the University eliminating the program?

I hope I'm wrong.

All I can say, "Wow." I can imagine it must have been quite difficult for Mike Pressler. I just hope Duke does not eliminate lacrosse.

Not at all. Why would they eliminate a highly successful program over this incident? Other schools have had major incidents of all kinds and they didnt eliminate programs. Think of all the problems there have been at D1 schools involving football players as well as coaches for example.
