I don't remember that swedish kid, but I will say this: Girls playing with guys in contact sports is a terrible idea. When a girl steps on a guys field one of 2 things happen. Either A) guys take it easy on her and dont play thier hardest or B) they try to hurt her, niether of which helps the game.

I think that is very closed minded. If a girl has the courage to step out onto the field with the guys, then let her, and I know I would play no different against her then I would anyone else.

Thats because your a goalie, you just stop shots and hope she doesn't score on you, 'cause well we all know that would be funny

We used to have a girl on our team named Bonnie. She played high school lax in Colorado, and I think she had played college in Colorado as well before transferring to USD. I'm not sure, but I think she's coaching a girls HS team now.
I know that we always wanted teams to play against her like they would a guy, but whenever they'd start to get physical (either in the context of the game or socially) we'd always take offense to it. One time a goalie threw a punch at her...stupid jerk.

I am not seeing how that would be funny....it would be the same as if anyone else scored on me. When I played highschool football, a team we played had a girl on it, and she was very good, we still beat their TEAM, but she was very good, and I got my butt kicked by a girl when I wrestled in highschool. By assuming that a girl can not play as good as a man, we are showing maybe a limitation in our society?

That is a very very very embarrassing story, you may just want to keep that one to yourself. How could you get beat in wrestling by a girl?...............................................................................seriously............................................................How?

Having played against quite a few girls growing up playing hockey, i can say that at least for me there was always a second thought before slamming the girl into the boards, and sometimes i layed off all together. I know its not the girls fault, but it will always change the game to have a girl playing a guys contact sport.

Ok.........seriously...........how come a girl can't be better and beat a guy at wrestling or any other sport?? Guess some guys still can't handle that fact.....good thing you didn't play kick ball against me in 1st and 2nd grade and then t-ball in 3rd grade. Some of you would be the guys getting made fun of not because you got beat by a girl but because you were crying about it. But then guys like MinesGoallie are the guys that girls wish there were more of........guys that can take it when someone (either if its a girl or a guy) is better than them and not cry and complain and make excuses about it.

Although when I first started playing at Cal Poly, we had the goalie from the women's field hockey team come out to practice once in awhile. She never played on the team, but she was probably better than our goalie at the time.

Marc may not be aware of it, but Cal Poly had a women as a coach back 20 years ago or so. I am not sure that she lasted the entire season but she certainly coached the team in a number of regular season games.

Okay, 1st off, if you honestly lost 2 a girl wrestling within your weight class that is sad (see: weight room). Second off, who didn't go to an elementary school where the girls matured much faster than the guys? Thats why you made boys cry. Lets face it, guys are just plain bigger, faster, and better than non-genetically enhanced girls (see: Germany's "female" swimmers). If this wasn't true then why aren't you watching the WNBA? Answer, if you wanted to watch people play hoops below the rim then you could come to my driveway (Yes I know that 1 or 2 of them dunk when there is no one within 100ft of them) I'm just saying what everyone else is thinking, so get upset if you must. All that being said I currently coach a prominent girls varsity high school lacrosse team and enjoy it very much, and I think girls getting involved in sports with other girls is a great thing. Yeah I agree that guys are bigger and faster than most girls. Its just the way it is. But to say guys are better than girls is just really low. I also agree that girls getting involved in sports is a great thing. And most of the time it is better for girls to get involved in sports with other girls. But sometimes that just doesn't work out. Why can't a girl play with the guys? If they do wanna play with them there is probably a reason and most work just as hard as any other guy. They put just as much time, enery, heart, ect. as guys do into the sport, whether it be lacrosse, wrestling, or any other sport. Yeah some girls may try and play with the guys for attention or whatever. But there are a lot of guys who play for the wrong reasons too. So if the girl can't handle playing with the boys then you can say whatever you want about her but there are some who can and want to, so everybody should let her prove herself and respect her for that.

We had a girl play for us four years ago at Central Michigan before we were in the CCLA. It was the last fall ball game of the year and we were playing Ferris State in the snow. She scooped up a loose ball and started taking it up field. She got to about mid-field when a Ferris player came runnning to check her. (I think this was the first time she got hit and really aqainted with guys lacrosse rules.) The Ferris player put his shoulder down and plowed into her. The next thing I remember seeing was her feet flying up over her head. She got creamed about five yards down the field. I don't think she knew where she was for about ten minutes but managed to get off the field. She didn't play the rest of that game and we never saw her again even though she was still going to school with us. I'm not saying guys are better than girls but she was All-State in womens lacrosse in HS and I heard even AA honorable mention, guys lacrosse is definitly much different than girls.

i think it is okay for a girl to play on a guys team. if a girl can put the effort, commitment and the knowledge of the physical aspect (very important) of the game then why cant she be a part of the team? we are all athletes, maleand female, that enjoy the game of lacrosse. just my two cents
