Illegal Crosse and coaches reason why it shouldnt be called

I had to laugh at this one. I recently called a penalty on a player for an illegal crosse as the head was narrower than 6 1/2 inches. The head coach was so incensed at the call and tried to convince me that I shouldn't have made the call as the weather was so cold that it must have made the players stick head shrink up. LMAO I felt like telling him that the next time I did one of his games and it was warmer than 70 degrees that I would expect all of heads of his players stick to measure at least 7 inches across since I'm sure the heat would make them all just swell right up! LOL

i had to go get a new stick because i had an evo pro and had taken a few face offs with it and it pinched my head. thus making my stick illegal and i did not pinch it but the face offs just made it illegal. i think warrior is pushing the envelope al little too much.

No, Warrior is pushing the envelope a lot too much. If they made them 6.75", would that really hurt anyone? I doubt it. Does getting a 3:00 NR penalty hurt anyone? I think so. Why is this such a hard concept for them? I would never buy one of their products because of this.

Id love to switch but i dont know any heads that are comparable to the evo pro in my mind. I have been in love with that head ever since i played with a prototype a few years ago. If any one has any suggestions with a similar head, that would be great.

What!! Temperature makes a HUGE difference! You put that head in the oven at 250 degrees for 15 minutes you'll be amazed at how easily you can bend it!

When I asked the official to repeat the measurement for me after the game, he could not get the stick to be illegal. I told him he might want to let it slide if he got a stick to measure only 6-15/32nds the next time.

The colder weather will make a little bit smaller, if only ever so slightly. So I suppose how much narrower it was from 6-1/2 inches would be what to examine. I guess my story didn't have much to do with this post but it really ticked me off to have that happen.

And that is exactly why officials are never supposed to remeasure. They only thing that matters is that they deemed the stick too narrow during the game.

Once the game officials determine it's illegal (too short, too long, head is too narrow), the penalty is enforced and the stick is to be removed from that particular game for the remainder of the contest. No remeasurements for players or coaches. Obviously, officials can't make any claims as to what happens to the stick before or after the game.

USC. They're essentially questioning the call by coming over and checking it themselves. You can do some preventative officiating by bringing the stick to the table and clearly telling the table personnel--loudly enough for the coaches to hear--that the stick is to remain on the table for the rest of the game and that if anyone touches it to sound the horn twice at the next dead ball so you can come over and enforce the USC penalty.

Another suggestion is to put the stick under a leg of the table, if possible, in order to deter curious minds/hands. Otherwise, treat it as LaxRef suggests.

Has anybody else had problems with the new Razor Pro with the ball not coming out when rotated 90 degrees? I know other guys on my team with the same problem with the Evo and Revo Pro.
