Final Score
Liberty 7
Elon 6

Intense game that went back and forth all day - sloppy though, one of the sloppiest I've ever seen. Elon's only been practicing for 2 weeks and you could really tell by today's performance - hopefully we'll have our act together by the time we play our next top tier selc B team. By the way #6 on liberty is legit - he scored 5 of the 7 liberty goals I believe.

In my opinion it was not a sloppy game. Elon has a great Team and I believe they had better stick skills but our Team won on heart. We have gotten tired of getting beat by Elon and we have talked about this game since we came on the field for Fallball last September. We just wanted it more plain and simple.

I will be honest I was very scared about today. We lost our face off guy Jake Redmond in the Central Conn. game and Michael Dean suffers from a knee injury and is not 100% . We have several other injuries but the Defense were the heroes. We made a lot of adjustments on Defense that shut down Elon.

had a friend who scouted elon vs liberty game. Elon definatly is not the same team they were the past few years. A few good player, but make a few dumb decisions, decent goalie, good midfield, great defense. Liberty had 1 good player, number six, who they put all their hope in. had most fouls for getting frustrated, lots of uncalled warding. Good team, bad midfield, good goalie. keep a stick on number six, he gets frustrated and turns over ball. good defense. friend said liberty is a great team, has no plays, just runs ball around and passes off to six. not as good as they think they are though. Dont be suprised if southern virginia beats elon unless they get their acts together.
check back for info on scad from the scad elon game.

3 games
19-5 versus UNCC
9-4 versus Central Connecticut
7-6 versus Elon

But by all means, don't take us seriously...we like that...especially when we get back to 100% health. Ain't this fun!!

last year you won UNC Charlotte 11-4
central connecticut didnt win any games last year, with most of their games losing by 10 or more.
elons team doesnt play with the force they used to have
and liberty fields a team of good players from what ive heard
but not a team that would have beat elon last year. we'll see.. have fun at lynchburg college. all the best

It's pretty crazy that almost all your comments are exactly the same (by exactly the same, I mean, word for word) as those made by several people at the game today... Are you sure it was your "friend" that was at the game?

that was the worst game we've ever played...... ever but Liberty beat us straight up they were better than us today so props for that - however be ready for one heck of a rematch that will hopefully take place in hotlanta - we wont be nearly as sloppy next time around. - lets just leave it at that

you got that right. Ekon is always a strong team (regardless of what friends of friends who saw the game say). To bad darkest blood doesn't identify himself. Maybe he's scared...

props to Elon for bringing a good game to Lynchburg. Cory definately stepped up for that game. Our leading scorer from last year is injured and Cory was there to pick up the offense. 19 goals in three games. Even scored 5 against Elon with double and sometimes triple teams. For Elon #4 was grat at cutting in and out of the creae and finding the open areas to shoot. Our goalie, Chad Gurney was all universe and had to be to beat the shooters from Elon! Should be a great rematch! Worht the price of admission.

i love this kind of talk. glad people are finally starting to generate some real discussion on selc b teams.

i also second the comments about encouraging others to not take you seriously. we've been there many times. it should be an interesting season.

Southern Virginia will not have an easy time with Elon and you can bet the farm on that. Nobody ever said our Team at Liberty has arrived. We have several good Midfielders but a couple of them did not even play due to injuries and truth be known we maybe should have not played Michael Dean due to a knee injury.

Our Team is still very young and inexperieced and very much are still developing. We are a long way from that final product. In the Elon game we did ask Cory to do a lot. Our best Offensive proformance this season was against UNC Charlotte where most of the scoring came from everyone not just Cory or Michael.

Where we lack in talent we have heart. We won these games this weekend with a beat up Team that maybe only had half the talent of Elon or Central Conn. But had the heart of a winner. We never give up and we are a determined program to succeed. Elon and Central Conn. both had more talented Players and larger rosters but talent can't always beat heart and attitude. The only weekness I saw was too many penalties. We will work on that. Overall I'm proud of our Guys no matter what the outcomes are this season. We have something very special in our program that we can be proud of. The bottom line is to have fun playing Lacrosse and being competitive and to share our faith.

I will say this, Defense does win Championships!
