I was watching the TV Land awards :oops:

and I was reminded of this oldie but goodie. Anyone else dig this show?? I'm sure a lot of people (in my age bracket) would recognize the theme song for this comedy/drama. Plus, the theme was spoofed by Seinfeld as George's answering machine message.

"Believe or not George isn't at home. Please leave a message at the beep. I must be out or I'd pick up the phone. Where could I be? Believe or not I'm not home."

Are we talking first couple of seasons or the last one?

His name in the first part was Ralph Hinkley, they changed it to Ralph Hanley for the last season.

Next trivia question: can you tell me the reason for the name change?

It had something to do with what happend 25 years ago tomorrow, off of Connecticut Ave. in NW DC. Ah, I remember it as though I was still in the second grade.

Hinkley was the guy who took a shot at Reagan and injured him & Brady. That was the reason for the name change. I wonder if Jodie Foster was impressed?
