Where have you gone, Syracuse?

Postby DanGenck on Tue Mar 28, 2006 10:18 pm

Syracuse is off to a 1-4 start, including a 9-8 loss to Hobart tonight.

What's wrong with Syracuse? And where the heck is Princeton these days?

Hobart

More like what is right with Hobart. First win over Syracuse in 20 years.

I think it was all the Hobart chatter on this message board earlier today that gave Hobart the win.

Veltman is the real deal.

Parody has swept the athletic universe it seems. If a small market wants to shake things up, the time feels right. George Mason, the Seattle Seahawks, someone in hockey, the New York Yankees; all these unknowns making waves. Perhaps a Missouri State USLIA championship waits in the wings.

Cheers to the Statesmen for their first ever victory over Syracuse. Where was the game played? In Geneva or at the Carrier Dome? If it is in Geneva, I wonder if the fans pelted fish at the Orange lacrosse players. Karl, is that only reserved for Cornell?

Karl Lynch will be smiling and sleeping well tonight. I forgot to add that the ex-Statesmen will also be smiling and sleeping well. Coming back in after visiting Laxpower, there are 4 pages of discussions about Hobart's MAJOR win over Cuse, and most of them are quite giddy about Hobart. One person even predicted that Hobart will win next year over 'Cuse, 24-5.

The game is played for the Kraus-Simmons Trophy. Hobart's last posession of the trophy was in 1986 with a 16-13 win over SU in Geneva. Tonight's game was played in the dome - no fish allowed. I hear it was broadcast on Time-Warner Cable in Central NY. Would love to see the tape!

I wonder if Michael Black still does lacrosse broadcasting for Hobart over the radio. I am asking because he did some work for LACROSSE listserv many years ago, and his email addy would have hws.edu. Did a quick research as I gotta hit the sack now. He is the General Manager of WEOS (FM) in Geneva, so he is still there.
