first of all...you know better then to be starting crap on the boards. secondly...yeah the goalie did have a few big penalties, but lets go back and watch the tape, chreighton played a great game and did what they had to do to win, including taking advantage of key mistakes harding made. you riley above all should know that any team can win on any given day and a box score doesnt show how the game played out. you would also do well to remember getting beat by crieghton last year thinking it would be a fairly easy game to win, dont let history repeat itself. handle your business on the feild...not on the boards.

Let me please reiterate that i did not say creighton sucks. All I said is that i'm not too worried about them. I'm sure the game will be a good one, but i have no doubt that we can win. This post is about our opinions. My opinion is such. If someone was hurt by something i said, I apologize. Like my dad always said, "Opinions are like butts branden. Everyone has them, and everyone else's stink." If you don't like my opinions, too bad. You're not likely to change them.[/quote]

i have no problem with your opinion, if i had to choose a winner in that game right this second, i would also pick harding. i am simpley trying to keep you from starting something with a very talented top 10 team.

for pepsi24
creighton will no longer be in the top 10. They lost to dordt this weekend. Dordt isn't ranked. I do not think creighton will hold a spot in the top 20 after losing to an unranked team.

Creighton is a great team. They may not have numbers that they have had in the past but they will make the playoffs. I saw them beat Iowa earlier this year. Wil does a great job and there are some really talented players on that team. One lose does not make a season and while Dordt may be unranked, Dordt is a tough team.

Dordt does a great job and deserves the most respect out of all the teams in our conference. To do what they did shows alot of determination, and i wish them the best of luck for the rest of the season.

Arkansas v. Harding

Postby HogBall21 on Mon Mar 27, 2006 12:12 am

The Arkansas/Harding game this weekend was pretty intense to start. It was 4-3 or so after the first quarter? We were really hangin in there and it made for a fun game. Over the next couple years i think the instate rivalry to grow and be a big deal.

i have a general question for everyone...
dpo u think that the loss of creighton to dordt or wiu to slu has anything to do with a raised level of play in the league?
we played arkansas and memphis this weekend and bith teams were very solid on stick skills and dodges and defense... these are the new teams... dordt beating creighton doesnt make me think less of creighton it proves how good dordt is and that there wont be any pushover teams in our league very soon... i dont wanna have to go oout to the west coast to have to play ranked teams i wanna play them here so i really like to hear about how improved the conference is from last year... did every team get better over the off season or am i alone on this?

I agree. I believe dordt has stepped up their game over the years i have played against them. They are much more aggresive than before, and offer great competition in our conference.

For the last two years, I've looked forward to going up against the Dordt defense. I think all of our teams are improving as the programs mature. Most of the B programs aren't more than a few years old, so there's a ways to go for all of us. From my experience, I'm beginning to believe that whether or not a team continues to improve (as a program at the B level) is based on the club leadership (pres., sec, etc) and how smoothly that transition works between old leaders and new leaders. When the off-field leadership is there, it seems like the on-field organization falls into place. I've been sad to see some very successful clubs disintegrate because one or two seniors graduated.

With only a few games and the crossover left in the season, who does everyone see as the top 6 for playoffs?

Here's my call:
1 Augustana
2 Harding
3 Dort
4/5/6 SLU/Wheaton/Creighton

i would totally agree except for a switch between augustana and harding. my reason for this is simply looking at the schedules. harding has played four top 25 opponents and a div. A team, going 4-1 over that stretch and only losing to a very good st. thomas team. comparatively...not to take anything away from the great season that augustana is having...i definitely think that they are very deserving of the respect they have earned...but they have played no ranked teams or div. a teams, just seems to me that having one loss too a top 5 isnt on the same level as going undefeated against all unranked teams.

...but i also think that things will get a little bit clearer over the next few weeks.

that's fiar, but actually i wasn't trying to imply that Augustana is necessairly better than Harding (I wouldn't be a very good judge either way). I was actually just going through the listings on the GRLC website looking for who I would consider "shoe ins" at this point and because Augustana's division was listed before Harding's I listed them first although I'm equally confident in both teams' ability to make it to the post season.

yeah i understand.

....and i apologize to augustana, i didnt know nebraska had moved up. and somehow missed iowa state on your schedule...that definitely moves you much closer...and in my opinion gives you a definite claim to the number one spot...

...cant wait to see how this plays out.
