My vote (as previewed by Brent - correctly) is Petro.
But, I'm a defenseman - what do you expect!
Another name - Mac Ford from UNC - an unstoppable attackman who Post college played for Mt Washington Tavern if I recall correctly. He was amazing.
Who is the greatest lacrosse player of all time?

I actually might have that. Let me check tomorrow and I'll PM you. But I'm told that the best battles were with Gary in the ILF worlds...
Bio of Petro from the JHU Lax website.
Pietramala the Player
Pietramala was a three-time First Team All-American during his career at Johns Hopkins. He led the Blue Jays to the 1987 NCAA Division I Championship and an appearance in the 1989 NCAA Championship game. He was the recipient of the William C. Schmeisser Award as the nation's outstanding defenseman in 1988 and 1989 and earned the Lt. Raymond J. Enners Award as the nation's most outstanding player in 1989 as well.
In addition, he was one of 10 Johns Hopkins players named to the NCAA Silver Anniversary Team in 1995 and he was selected to the All-Time Johns Hopkins Team at the end of his career. Pietramala remains one of just 19 players in school history to earn First Team All-America honors three times. He is one of just five JHU defensemen to earn the honor three times.
Pietramala, who was named to Lacrosse Magazine's All-Century Team, continued his playing career at the club and national level after leaving Johns Hopkins. He was named the outstanding performer at the International Lacrosse Federation World Championships in 1990 as a member of the United States' championship team in Perth, Australia. He again earned All-World honors in 1994 as he led the United States to the title in Manchester, England.

Gait, Millon, Pietramala (although Lee Zink is my fav d-man).
That's always the problem comparing players of different eras, whatever the sport. All you can do is look at how they compared to the players and game of their day, and Jim Brown was an outsized talent. You also have to get your mental picture on Jim Brown today out of your head and be able to see what he was like in college. I dare say if he was coming onto a tam today he would still strike fear in the competition.
I also give props to Petro - best D-man I ever saw.

While Combs is good, he's only a soph... wait until he graduates and then look at his career.

I heard 26-27
I typed in his name on google and found something interesting
http://www.lax.com/team_stats.phtml?tea ... 49&year=01
It says Justin Combs as a freshman on Towsons roster in 2001?
I dont know if thats the same person but it makes sense I guess. I heard he was a D1 player that Lindenwood somehow got to play there.
So:
Freshman in 2001 say 19 years old.
02-20
03-21
04-22
05-23
06-24
Is this anywhere near correct?

Doesnt really matter all that much... but if he is 24-25 plus I thought it was interesting he would be playing people that were still in middle school when he was playing Varsity Towson lacrosse. Thats not really an advantage....... o wait
