Based on a posting in the coaching opportunity forum, it seems that their school must approve anyone seving in the coachin capacity. Makes it tough to stick someone's friend on the sideline.

I remember a few years back seeing a player's girlfriend stand in the coach's box to meet the requirement

Especially since I think they had to add a new goalie to their roster, since their top 2 were hurt.

Two good defenses, and neither offense was able to get a lot of quality shots. Grove City led the entire game, but it was always close.

I heard that WPI couldn't get transportation, and the game was either postponed or forfieted? but that is all through the grapevine.

from the U of M lacrosse website:

Ann Arbor, Mich. - The #3 University of Michigan men's lacrosse team grabbed their third win in as many days, defeating Boston College by a score of 14-7 on Sunday afternoon in Ann Arbor at Oosterbaan Fieldhouse in the final game of the Michigan Invitational. The Wolverines led only 8-6 at halftime before blowing it open in the second half and outscoring the Eagles 6-1 in the final 30 minutes.

Well, we couldn't get our transportation changed on less than 1 day of notice. I was told the day before the game by the Bridgewater coach that they had been bumped from their field time by Varsity Women's Lacrosse, and that the game had been pushed back from 1:00 to 3:00. I know it's no one's fault, but that's not enough notice. The game will be rescheduled.

Weird that BSC has to share a field the with women's team now. They have always had their own field in the spring. The outlay is 3 fields, with both lacrosse teams using one each, and another going unused for the season. They usually rotate the unused field each year to avoid overuse.

Oh, well, at least the game will be made up.
