Question regarding MDIA game sites

Postby Sonny on Thu Mar 23, 2006 10:34 am

Q: How many current MDIA teams host games at sites (stadiums/fields) where there is Internet access at the scorer's table? Wired or wireless, doesn't matter.

Internet Access

South Field at BYU has wireless internet access at all times. Are you thinking TAS Live? We have the software if you've got the server?

I believe Ralph Young Field at MSU may have internet access, but I've never tried to plug a computer into those jacks....

I would have thought that every Big 10 stadium and campus would have wireless access by now. I would imagine that at MSU you could access the internet wirelessly from anywhere on campus.

Yes. I'm already thinking about it... Probably won't have the time to implement this for this current season as we are about to hit April and the stretch run to Plano. But there is always next year. :)

We don't play at the main football stadium. We play at the Track/Field Hockey/Lacrosse stadium. I'm not sure about wireless, but there are RJ 45 (ethernet sized) jacks that would appear to be internet. The stands/press box are only about 4 years old, so I'd assume that's what they are.

Follow-up question - How many MDIA teams use StatCrew AND have internet access at their game facility?

BYU & Michigan come to mind. Anyone else?

We have internet access at the stadium (wireless). We are not using StatCrew. Currently we are working on a proprietary piece of software. The process is just starting.......
