Well, first of all, it was far from the truth.

Second, Hart is the leading scorer in the PNCLL Div B (when you go by ppg). He is also only second in the entire USLMDIA Div B to anyone who has played more than one game. So to think that he got shut out from knotching a goal or an assist in any game is a little difficult to believe.

Third, when you put up 10 goals by yourself against a respectable team (in this case linfield), people are going to expect you to score something. I'm not knocking the Southern Oregon defense, they are formidable, but they're not going to stop Cody from making a mark.

Fourth, Cody has shown that he is a team player and creates for others. Look at how many assists he has. If you stop him from scoring, you aren't going to stop him from creating for other guys on the team...mainly Colin Burke.

Anyways...that's why I would find it hard to believe.

cody's a great player. whatever claims folks have made about his stick skills being weak are BS. solid d-skills too (for an attackman). i've got nothing but respect for him after seeing him play. all i'm saying is it would not be the first time southern's d has shut out a

I gotta agree with Lincoln02 on this one. Southerns defense has been been holding back some of the upper level attackers from scoring, forcing them to pass more and try to win with other guys. Heres the few I noticed:

Taylor Brennan (Linfield): 0 goals/1 assist
Nicholas Tkachuk (PLU): 0 goals/1 assist
Townsend Hall (Montana): 1 goal/4 assists

Not to knock the southern D. Number 1 and Number 12 are both as good as any d-pole I have seen In this league. Of course I am watching across the field. However, the three attackmen that they held almost scoreless may be misleading. Townsend may not have really been putting in a full effort as his team was able to score 20. I don't know about Tkachuk but I heard PLU was able to get off about 50 shots but they just weren't able to put it in. This may have had to do with Southerns D and it may have just been PLU. And Brennan hurt his ankle in the first quarter of the game and did not return until late in the fourth. Again, no knock against Southern's D, but these numbers may be misleading.

True true...I just took what numbers i saw and it looked like some top notch attackers were having troubles with this defense. Dont really know about the circumstances behind each.

Southern's D is indeed for real. We did get off over 50 shots against SOU, and only put in 9. We missed wide quite a bit, hit a BUNCH of posts(hit ATLEAST 5 myself in that game), but the fact that probably less than 50% of our shots were on goal was not just due to our poor shooting, but SOU's scheme. We had a bunch of EMO chances, but if my memory serves me correctly only put in 1. They communicated very well and had extremely well timed slides, preventing us from getting quality looks at the cage. I'm not sure if this was just bad shooting or a great D package, or a healthy combo of both, but we also hit alot of defenders on shots. They were very disciplined and stayed at home, keeping alot of shots from even reaching the goalie. Snell was hands down the best defenseman ive seen this year, really quick stick and does a great job handling the ball. Lots of respect for that group of D poles.

I'll bet ANY team that goes 3-0 -- including two thrillers in overtime against higher-ranked opponents -- would surely enjoy the HIT experience! :D

But thanks for the kind words, Rob. The Bulldogs put on quite a show in Seattle and helped make our third annual event the best yet.

I've seen the correction in the SOU vs. Albertson game, and Cody Hart indeed scored 2 goals and 5 assists in the game.

No, I don't find that hard to believe. I have not yet seen Cody play, but I'm very much looking forward to watching him based upon what I've heard from those who've seen him in action.

Originally when the game was posted Cody was not credited with any points. . .it has been corrected.

Considering that 4 other players had 3+ goals in the Montana/SOU game, I would suggest that Townsend didn't get as many touches as usual.

^Montana didn't even suit up their starting attack line when they played Willamette from what I heard. Montana is a very classy bunch of guys.

Montana is insanely classy. When I played with them last year at Albertson they were very cool guys, understood we were new, and did not pour it on. 11-4 against a first year team. Even hung out with us afterwards.

Yes it was gracious, we all know their top attackmen are a notch above and we were happy to play them(Montana) in a situation where both teams were able to play all of their players and have a great time playing lacrosse.

I don't think SOU really appreciates the "pot being stirred" because it just reflects on them negatively. I don't know how you think you are representing SOU, but it is not well. Don't ruin my opinion of them because you are disgruntled. Settle it on the field like the SOU I know and respected last year would have. I don't think Montana is the team to try and drag through the mud at this point, just a thought. Try Willamette, we can't fight back, at least not til the 8th.
