How will Division B shape up this year?

Postby canalacrosse on Wed Mar 15, 2006 4:48 pm

Our goalie save numbers ARE real. WE have someone keeping them each game and usually different people. Yes we have a huge defensive problem ok. No our goalie is not Chris MACE from mines. Yes our defense is to blame thanks for pointing it out lol. So if you all would stop implying that our stats are lying. Trust us our goalie yells at team meetings about defense. If you think he likes getting shot on alot or he thinks it's cool or something *cough* mace *cough* he DOESNT, look at our team we have one of the worst GAA as well as opponents always scoring in double digits in our loses. So please look at the facts before you accuse. So thanks for all of your concerns.

Our goalie save numbers ARE real.
racked up 45 saves against UVSC last year in only the 1st half

I have to call BS on that one. Anyone who says they got 45 saves in a half is full of it. I don't care how bad your defense is. That is ridiculous.

Marc,
I wasn't saying our goalie had 45 saves first half, I believe Trost was speaking of a different goalie from last season on a dif. team (Chris Mace from mines I believe). But yes the first quote about OUR goalie save numbers are real. Last year we didn't have the same goalie from we do this year so the second quote you had on your post isnt about us or our goalie. I would agree with you 45 saves in a half is ridiculous and I have never said that.

I got it now. Sorry I misunderstood. What is Mase thinking by claiming 45 saves in a half. I do agree a goalie can rack up 30+ saves in a game. especially when some teams take a lot shots on goal that are not of high quality. But 45 in a game is still out of the ordinary let alone in a half.

I'm not going to lie...I don't think any of us can afford professional, trained, stat keepers. In my two past years we didn't even have the same person taking stats each game. Stats were normally done by an injured player if anyone was taking stats for us at all. My apologies to the league for the past.

That being said, Mines now has two non-player volunteers taking stats for us each game thus far. That's two pairs of consisent eyes watching the game.

In the game against Western State our staticians recorded 56 shots and 13 goals against Western, and I know that I missed the cage a few times in that game...you do the math.

We never have a stat keeper that is the same game to game So i take what they give. I'm sorry. If anyone would like to pay for a stat keeper for us then do so. I will back our stat keepers up. Not all games have we had that many saves..... in CSU-Pueblo game he had 20 saves so I dont know what to tell ya.

We have 58 GA which other than UVSC is 28 goals goals more than any other team and have played 5 games which for the most part is more than any other team in the league. I'm not happy about this cause it does say our defense isn't good. So can we drop it and believe there is not stat padding going on, if you still think it you can come to our game and keep stats for us!

All stat keeping aside, I think we will get a good look at how the B division is going to shape up. We are all in agreement that where UVSC and Montana are going to be at the top. With 6 other teams in action this weekend we can get a better feel of the rest of the pack.

How do I get pulled into a conversation for a league I dont even play in anymore? Hmmm, maybe I am popular......nope, I was wrong....

And I actually got the first half save stats from one of the UVSC coaches that game......plus, UVSC won by 30...I dont think there was a whole 45 second gap in the game when they werent shooting.

Fort lewis loses by a handful to UVSC while western gave a much better game, P shocker do you still see Western not making playoffs esp. after having a good showing in cali. If it wasnt for back to back to back games Western would have gone 3-0 but due to fatigue they let biola back in the game after being up by 3. So hopefully people still are doubting Western and they can come in like a dark horse.....

Good job in Cali. BTW there's no doubt in my mind that Fort, UNC, Mines, and Western are all right in the mix together. I look foward to the rest of the games between our schools.

I agree with you Aflaclax the 3.4.5.6 seeds are totally up for grabs in DIV B I think the Northern Coloradovs.Montana State game on sunday is huge I also think that Western's loss to Mines earlier this year will come back to haunt them. If i were make prediction on how things might end up for playoffs it might look like this. I also see another team for RMLC B to get an at large bid for the national tournament. But thereis a lot of lacrosse to be played each team besides UVSC each have 3 crutial games on their schedules left to play.

1.UVSC- Will go undeafted in conference play. True test will be against Oregon and today vs. Montana

2.MONT ST- Have only played 2 games thus far look for them to make a run. Played UVSC close.

3.FORT-Starting April 7th Fort will have all home games for the rest of the season, It wont be easy, as they play UNC, Rival Western State and Mont State

4.WESTERN-Schedule favors Mountaineers as they play 5 of 6 at home. Look for games vs UNC, Mont State and with Fort to be deciding factors on thier seeding.

5.UNC-Has a rough road ahed with dates with UVSC Mont St, CSU-FT, and both Fort and Western on the road

6.MINES-Still has to play UVSC, Mont st, and UNC all on the road

Nice, I expect nothing less than a USLMDIA championship from UVSC.
