On the topic of basketball, how about Gerry McNamara coming through for 'Cuse again yesterday ousting UConn, especially after Coach Jim's remarks Thurs night? That kid is something.

I hate the conference tournaments... why should UConn have to beat Syracuse 3 times in a year? Isn't 2 enough?

The way the conferences are set up right now, what is the point of even winning a conference championship? It seems meaningless now! Everyone has a "Whatever, at least we're going to the national tournament" attitude.

I agree entirely, Dan. Aside from bragging rights, what is the drive to win a conference championship? To me, I like to see my UW boys trounce the rest of the Big 10 (although this year wasn't particularly kind to me.) IMO.

Don't get me wrong... small conferences need the championship... but the Big East? It's just for money... lots and lots of money.
