I am a fan of the 80s as well. Some of the movies I grew up were Breakfast Club, Fast Times at Ridgemont High and such. I just think Fletch was just a couple years before my time as I don't really remember every watching it before.
Some 80s music is great as well......actually they are coming out with a Punk Goes 80s CD sometime this summer, same people who did Punk Goes Pop and Punk Goes Acoustic. There is always some funny songs on these CDs. The bands confirmed so far are:
The Early November, Boys Night Out, Hidden In Plain View, Emery, and Gatbys American Dream, Midtown, Reliant K, A Thorn For Every Heart, Brazil, JamisonParker, Halifax, Amber Pacific, and Rufio.
I have heard Rufio do Madonna's "Like A Prayer" before and it's decent/funny.
Sort of went on a tangent there........you're still old Sonny, yeah that's what I was saying......

I think this movie made it so big because everyone can relate to at least one character in the movie. I knew tons of guys who were just like Nap Dyno and I'm sure everyone had or knew of someone who had moony bees just like Napoleon did. And who doesn't have a creepy uncle like uncle Rico? Plus, it was practically filmed like an 80s movie, but the funny thing is, that's how Preston is! I thought it was great.

If you guys are saying Fletch is awesome, then you have to like Napoleon don't you? It's very similar to me, I dunno, maybe I'm crazy though.
The biggest thing I think that confuses people about this movie is its wholesomeness. Alot of people are driven aback by the PG rating and the fact that a hit movie doesn't have one cuss word. I loved it personally, but it was definitely revolutionary to say the least.
Now for crass humor, you can't beat a classic like Animal House, am I right? AEKDB anyone?
