Considering that GTECH and UGA both beat Boston College, I see the Chieftans having a tough time, especially after losing a bunch of guys to graduation, including goalie Brooks. The one thing you can count on is that Ryan Larkin will have his guys ready to go. I don't know anything about Miami. It's great to see Stonehill and a bunch of the PCLL teams on the road every spring. Best of luck guys.

Stonehill Spring Break

Postby Stonehillcoach on Tue Mar 07, 2006 9:00 pm

Thanks Dan. We are hurting for numbers this year with only 16 of our 22 guys down here in Georgia. We've had to switch a freshman midfielder to goalie and only have 1 starting attackman. We've been practicing for a couple of weeks now and had a good practice this morning so we'll see. The guys I have down here are ready to play.

From USL-MDIA website:

Georgia got up quickly in the first half. Stonehill recieved a three minute stick penalty at the begining of the second quarter and UGA was able to score three times during man up. Stonehill is strong and well coached. Both teams played a good, clean game, only three penalties.

Friday night final from warm Atlanta, GA (low 80's tonight):
Georgia Tech 10, Stonehill College 2

BOX SCORE:
GT: 3 - 3 - 3 - 1 = 10
SC: 1 - 0 - 0 - 1 = 2

Stonehill scored the first goal of the game to take a brief lead. GT responded and ended up scoring 9 unanswered goals until midway in the 4th quarter. SC and GT traded goals in the final quarter to give the Jackets an 8-goal victory.

Stonehill finishes their Southern trip against the Miami (OH) Redhawks Saturday afternoon at Georgia Tech. GT will play Miami on Sunday.
