 I don't think the Mizzou offense could put 31 shots on cage against the stout and all powerful Texas Tech D. I have seen Tech play and the are good at Deense, but might have gotten a little silly at the scorers table and given their AA goalie a few too many saves to pad the stats. Probably didn't think it would end up a topic of discussion on the message board.

or that a goalie who posted 31 saves might be worth a mention in the game report.

Well we played Colorado earlier, who reported 55 shots and only put in 13 goals ... Alex you do the math.

I know I just went to a little ol' state school here in Colorada, so bear with me. But I guess if the "math" holds true from yesterday's game, the Tech goalie probably had 49 saves? It's impossible to "do the math" from the shots category on the stats page. If it said "shots on goal" then you could. This would be one of those trick algebra equations where the answer is something like, "not enough information."

I have seen Tech play and the are good at Deense, but might have gotten a little silly at the scorers table and given their AA goalie a few too many saves to pad the stats.

^^^ That's probably the most accurate quote of the discussion.

As has been repeated ad nauseum, shots minus goals does not = saves.

And there is no reason to be getting personal, I don't know Kurzweil or anyone on Tech from Adam. But I do have a pretty good sense of lacrosse goalkeeping and stats keeping and I am a little reticent to believe this one.
Always on point . . .

I'm sure it was just a misprint seeing how they changed it to 21. God forbid somebody doesn't double check every game report.

So was the revision of the stats to say he had 21 a mistake? No chance Mizzou had 31 shots "on goal" against a ranked team.

I once had 1 goal and 2 assists in a game as a goalie against TAMU. I was the second highest scorer on my team that game.
