Oregon took a team down to the Lake Tahoe Tourny last summer and had a great time. There is some very good talent on hand, along with free beer all afternoon. I would suggest the Tahoe tourny to anyone looking to have a good time and play tough lax.

Well it looks like my partner and I will at the very least put together a B division team for a tournament or two... Jason Stockton said he'd coach, 1st team would be invited, and we'd probably fill holes after that. I'm just guessing, but with Hotel, jerseys, & entry fee... I hope we can keep it below $50/player. All you guys would have to do is get there, win, & have a good time... & backup the talk behind a wearing a bright orange jersey.
What do you think? any ideas? sound worth it?

As far as the Victoria Tournament goes, especially in accordance with the All-Star team, if there's enough interest I can start working a few things out with my business partner, and between himself & I, we maybe able to co-sponsor a team of current PNCLL All-Stars, and maybe a Past All-Stars team as well. We'll have to kick the idea around a bit and play with the numbers. Right now our business (Sound Lacrosse) isn't really set up to make a ton of money, but we may be able to find a way to cover the cost. If people are interested in it, shoot me an email, we'll see what type of team that could create, but keep in mind, we wouldn't pay your way for fun, we'd subsidize it & hopefully cover the cost of the jerseys, balls, etc.
This sounds all too familiar to me...

That sounds really cool, and 50 bucks? that's not like your selling your soul, I like that alot. Don't let the idea die, I think this would be really really cool. There is lacrosse in colleges in the northwest, even small ones!

Well, it's possible... The fact of the matter is we ran a successful Indoor League last Winter, this will be quite a bit less work. We invite 18-25 players, book hotel rooms, use existing contacts to get really bright/ugly all-star jerseys... Volunteer coach, should be a good time. Quite frankly it will come down to how many people accept the invitation to play. If we get 15 responses, we'll invite more, if we get 5-10, we'll reconsider it, but it sounds like a go. We can use paypal or accept a check, not a big deal, but should be fun for the players and good for the league. I'll hope we can organize this using the PNCLL president...
Oh, and an added bonus, there will be a doctor at every game!

I am definitely down, but don't we need to wait to see who makes first team before we can make any commitments to it? or am i not understanding the idea correctly...
The true test of a player's character is not how he wins, but how he loses.

You're right, 1st team will be invited, and depending on who accepts, we'll form the team from their. For instance, if 1st team defense accepts, but no middies do, and 2nd team defense accepts, but no middies, we've got 6 poles, and need shorties... After first team responds, we'll invite players. We'll also keep in mind that if we invite 1 player from an area, driving will be a pain by themselves, so we may invite 2 players from that area to help in travel costs and keep them company. I'm glad there's interest, I'll look into more tournaments as they come, Vicotria, Tahoe, Vail are all possibilities... Victoria requiring the least amount of travel (travel expense) for most.

There will be no all-star game this year. The league all-stars will be announced at the Final Four weekend in Oregon.
As this thread suggests, there may be opportunities for the best of the PNCLL to get together to play in places like Tahoe, Vail or Victoria. . .but there will be no official league all-star game in 2006.

Kyle, would you go as far as inviting players who don't make any team if there isnt enough interest from 1st, 2nd, and honorable mention players? I for one would love to get in some extra game experience over the summer/whenever, and im sure there are others who would welcome the opportunity as well

Nic, absolutely. Jason & I will talk about who they would be when people respond.
No All-Star game for lots of reasons, one being time, another being players leaving for Nationals, so one team is always out.... I was never a priority, except for the year at Seahawk stadium. Coaches & players have been late to them. Quite frankly, I don't think it should be a year in and year out thing. It might be great to do it every few years, if the venue is big enough to showcase the talent (PNLA's maybe). An early morning at Mercer Island with 2 fans is not ideal, especially if its the day after the championship, and teams just want to get home, or are hung over from celebrating. The logistics make it tough!
