Michigan at UCSD (Mon, 2/27 @ 7pm PST)
Will anyone be at the game be able to post or call in updates? Shaping up to be a good Top 10 tilt.

Redwing (former UCSB AA middie) will also be giving me updates and color commentary from San Diego....maybe.... if he feels like it.

Does anyone know what the weather is like in San Diego today? California is getting hit by a big storm today and tonight, and I think it's supposed to drench even the southernmost parts of the state. Weather could play a major factor in this game, as they may be playing this one in a downpour.

Redwing says it is raining in San Diego and he may not make it to the game. Yes, it does rain in San Diego, but not very often.
General wisdom is that bad footing helps the offense. UCSD probably has a better offense.

Looks like steady showers and mid 50's tonight in SD:

They are expecting flooding in NorCal. It is pouring and very windy here in the San Francisco Bay Area right now.
However, San Diego usually gets far less severe weather than San Francisco.

I'm about to leave for the game and something very weird is definitely going on. I looked on the internet, and I'm not sure, but I think this is something known as "rain."
Has anyone else ever experienced this? There is water coming out of the sky as if from nowhere! I think the gods are angry.
I love San Diego. Off to the game.

After a harrowing day in downtown LA, getting called in for Jury Duty, I am back and ready to go. Call away, WaterBoy!

Waterboy I love the sarcasm! As one who has lived both up here in the Northwest but also spent many years in the Golden State, I remember fondly how Californians react to a little rain. All the local t.v. stations, I'm sure, are interrupting regularly scheduled broadcasts with stories about it. Intrepid, brave field reporters bundled up in brightly colored Gortex and huddled underneath umbrellas giving us great human interest shots of freeway accidents and soggy puppy dogs.
But I'm sure that those Tritons and Wolverines will find a way to assert their manhood and venture out into the wet night to play a little lacrosse. I will say a little prayer that nobody slips and falls down, that no mud is splattered, that no official Bob Fleak "Mr. Lax" scoresheet gets smudged. Up here we have a saying for horrendous weather like this -- normal lacrosse season conditions.

The rain has eased up in San Diego. Cool, but not too cold.
The game thus far:
UCSD's #5 has scored two goals. First from a feed off #10, second one from #25. 2:45 into the game.
2--0

five minutes in: #5 AGAIN, from #10.
UCSD getting lots of open looks at the crease. Michigan can't seem to stop the UCSD fast breaks.

Tell me about it! I had to drive home from Downtown LA tonight--in the pouring rain--with crazy drivers to my left and right. Reminds me of DC drivers when they get a little snow!!

Glad I remember the back roads from the last time I did my civic duty!
