good team vs Championship team
What separates good teams from becoming championship teams? Is it the ability to come out everyday like its the national championship even against lower end teams? Is it captains and the attitude of the teams bred through the history of the organization? or is it the coaching?
Anyone can beat anyone on any given day..

I would say the biggest difference is in the attitude of the players. Championship teams are made of champions. Players that commit on a personal and team level to ensure that they are doing everything they can to be the best. Talent is important, but commitment and hard work have to be there as well. That means every player, even the guy that may not see any game time that year. Coaching is important too, but I think at the core is the attitude of the players. If you dont have that, everything else becomes less effective.

I would say it is the ability of the players to play as a team. You can have a lot of talent, but if you don't play well together you will lose...eventually. I think CSU and SB is a good example of teams who have great talent but also play great as a team.
I think you can probably name a few teams that have had the talent to be champions but couldn't put it together like SB and CSU have been able to do.

Im sure you could also make an argument about teams who might have a little less individual skill but have gone far and surprised several people because of their ability to work as a team.
Of course, being a goalie, I would have to say that a solid defense is the true key to a good team. if you can stop the other team from scoring, youre at least going to tie then. also, having a defense that can turn a turnover into a fast break is key cause even if you only have it for 15 seconds but score every time you have it, the game will probably go your way as long as you have some depth to your defense. but thats just my opinion. that and i like having a good defense cause it makes my job easier.
