dont know if this counts, but most of you know that i referee soccer. fans love to heckle soccer referees. i was talking to a player about a foul (the players asked what he did) and some fan in the stands mustve been a little frustrated and wanted to get the game moving again. he yelled "Why dont you get his phone number and call him tomorrow." both the player and i thought it was pretty funny and began to laugh. then i took out my book and started to write something down and the player played along with me by turning around to the stands and giving the thumbs up sign. it was good.
peace.

Always can count on the cougs to come up with some good clean fun. Best one I can remember was we were in Vegas playing CSU and Justin Hier was playing really well as a freshman. THe CSU fans were all over him everytime he touched the ball. By the 3rd quarter he had enough and started talking back. At one point he said "I'm a freshman and no one on your team can stop me." To which the fan responded "So what, Do you want a cupcake?" I laughed till the end of the game.

We were at Purdue 3-4 years ago. I believe it was a Friday night under the lights right on campus and quite a few students stopped to watch as the game progressed. One of our players forgot his jersey and had to wear a practice jersey. They began to make fun of him and called him J.V. for junior varsity. The name has stuck with him till this day.

I also vaguely remember somebody in Speedos wearing a wig who was also quite vocal. The rest was the normal heckling you can expect.

In non-USLIA teams, UW-Stout has a bunch of rowdies, at least when we scrimmaged them in the fall. Last fall we played them, and while I was on the field I got a lesson in new curse words and insults from their wasted fans (on a Tuesday night, gotta love college.)

Does it count when you're heckling your own players? We were on a road trip down in LA, and one of our larger d-men was complaining all day because all he wanted was In and Out. During warm-ups, he had a monster wedgie, and one of our guys yelled out "Gabe's so hungry his a$$ is eating his shorts." It still makes me laugh....

Heckling rule # 14: If you're up by 10 goals, heckle your own team.

I still like most of the ones our couch crew had - against Florida, "Hey #13, what are you feeding that chicken you're riding?" Granted that was one fast chicken.

Heckling your own team does happen... we had a player get a penalty once for flicking off his own bench (2002 vs. Bethel).

Alright.... this isn't a comment from the sidelines, but it is something i heard a goalie joking about and it would be hilarious and super mean. He said he wanted to make a save, go coast to coast, and score on the other goalie. As the opposing goalie turned around and bent down to pick the ball up from the goal, our goalie wanted to put his own stick between his legs and hump the opposing goalie from behind. When he tells this hypothetical situation it is the funniest thing i have ever heard, and it would be soooo bad for the other goalie. It never happened, but can you imagine?!?!?!?! ( hope this isn't too inappropriate sonny)

That sounds like something better suited for an and one mixtape... If i saw it in a game, i'd be upset, but if it were a screw-off game, that would be hysterical. Props to the goalie for creativity.

one of the funniest i ever experienced in person wasn't in college but in high school back east. my high school team (we were a day school) was up huge on our opponents (a boarding school) and as a goalie I ws pretty bored at our end of the field. I noticed that our fans were chanting something at the oher team. after a few moments i realized they were chating at the guys from boarding school..."Our parents love us. They let us come home" over and over. All in good fun, but i almost fell over laughing. But don't tell my coach, as a goalie I was paying full attention to the game regardless of the score!

in 2002, Auburn fans peeled out in their big pickup trucks and soaked many FSU players with mud and the team bus. I think the FSU fans got them back pretty bad the last 2 times they came to town

I don't know if this counts towards anything, but about 4 or 5 years ago when we were getting crushed at Auburn, their fans wouldn't let up and they were pretty brutal so one of our players (in between runs at midfield) called the local police from the bench and claimed they were drinking alcohol in public (which they really were) and smoking p*t (which they probably were not). It was pretty funny to see the fans reaction when the cops showed up.

The FSU game was on of the last really bad heckling games at Auburn. I believe the administration was called after that game.

Gotta love Auburn games though. The fans are really funny. I remember a "disagreement" between an attackman at Auburn (that will remain nameless) and a GT d-pole. While this "disagreement" was going on a fan called the police, probably because they had never seen something like this. The police actually came out onto the field and threatened to use MACE to break the "disagreement" up. It was pretty hysterical. I think Oaks and Ken can attest to this story.

At first there was only one cop on the field who just happened to be walking by. But after the little "debate" on the field, there were about 6 or 7 cops on the endline. By far one of the funniest things I've seen: cops, on an endline, dodging shots from our "nameless" attackman wearing bullet-proof vests... classic
