SFU 13 AZ 12
Good job boys, keep it up for Monday.
From Arizona State Game Report:
http://laxdevils.com ASU Starts Slow, Simon Fraser Capitalizes on Late Mistakes, Beats ASU 13-12. Simon Fraser came out firing Friday night scoring :17 seconds into the game and keeping the momentum going throughout the first quarter. The Devils answered late in the last 2 minutes of the first quarter with 3 goals, 2 on EMO to close the first at 4-3 SFU. Penalties were the story of the second with ASU collecting 6 to Simon Fraser's 2. SFU capitalized, extending to an 8-4 halftime lead on multiple man-up chances. ASU surged back with a 5-1 third quarter, tying the score at 9 going into the fourth. The fourth quarter started like the third with ASU extending to an 11-9 lead. Then ASU failed to score on a 2 minute man-up, lost several key possessions, and picked up 2 costly penalties to blow the lead and the game losing 13-12. SFU's Mike Christians put the game away late for The Clan, scoring all 4 fourth quarter goals. For the Devils, Ben Vosika had a great game dominating the face off X and picking up 6 GB's, while Kevin Fisher had 5, both team highs in the game. The final GB tally was ASU 40, SFU 27. Next up for the Devils is the University of Denver club team on Sunday, followed by #1 Sonoma State and Santa Clara next week on the road.

YOTES WIN FIRST GAME EVER!!!

Transfer attackman Cody hart provided 5 goals for the Yotes, but the rest of the scoring was well spread out. Senior goalie Blake Gaudet stopped 23 shots on the day, and the defense only allowed 2 goals in the entire second half.
Sam Suyehira, a sophmore playing in his first game ever, also played fantastically at the face-off X.
The Yotes also had one sub (a defender), and the team was dead by the end of the game. Really fun game to watch, and you could tell a huge weight was lifted off the shoulders of the Albertson players by their post-game celebration.

Have to say your Lutes came out firing at the Shootout yesterday. They did a great job against UC Irvine, and, even though the score may not reflect it, they did a bang-up effort against Claremont. The Cougs had them on depth, though and took full advantage or that. They also didn't have any of their key players out with injuries and played a more energy-conservative game in their first matchup.
After watching a number of the teams play two games in one day I have to say I'm siding with Jason on the multiple games issue. Although there were, thankfully, no injuries it was still tough on them. I think it might be better if more teams did as St. John did and schedule one game a day. If Irvine can't get the fields for that many days then the additional games can be scheduled at the local school's campus.
Good job by the Lutes. I wish them well against San Diego today, and in their games in the future. Your #13 was pretty awesome and your goalie did his best to handle the onslaught of Cougar shots. I'll post something here on the USD game when I get back tonight.

Western Washington 16 Linfield 4. This game really showed that WWU had played three games and that we had played none. The second half was better as WWU only outscored Linfield 4-2.
