LSA Week 4 (Feb 15th - 21st) - Discuss/Report Scores

In the Waco/Temple/Palestine area, we were given a "winter weather watch" for possible accumulation of either ice or sleet. We were given warnings to be careful driving on bridges or overpasses.

Same for North Texas lacrosse areas...highs Friday in the high 30's with freezing rain in the evening. For the weekend, highs in the low 30's or high 20's and freezing rain through Tuesday.

SMU 7 OT
Mo State 6

22 degrees, windy, and light snow flurries. Not what those guys were used to.
Overtime started with both teams down a man then once SMU killed off their penalty they capitalized on the EMO. Great game all around.

I agree with JW in congratulating SMU for its OOC win over Missouri State.

Since it is now 9:14 am in Texas, there are folks who need to know about the Fort Lewis vs. Southwestern game that would be played at 11 am at the University of Texas Arlington. That game is cancelled because of safety issues regarding weather and travel. I was informed by email by Southwestern that the university would not allow them to travel for safety reasons.

Anyone have any information on the Fort Lewis-Austin College game that was to be played last night. I already emailed Kyle with Austin College this morning.

Today, I know you all including myself will be fixin' to wanting to know how the games went today.

According to Jared Hughes with University of Arkansas in the GRLC forum and according to a text message that I got from OSU(Dustin Booth, Head Coach), the OSU-Arkansas game was cancelled due to weather. It is my understanding that both teams will try to reschedule the game at a later date.

Just got this in....

At Nacogdoches:

St. Edwards 12 Stephen F. Austin 5

Got this information from GRLC Forum:

Washington University 10 SMU 4
(corrected: Washington University 12 SMU 6)

I got an email from Thomas Greene with SMU a few minutes ago before he went off to his team's game against Lindenwood. So far, I know that the uslmdia.org does not reflect that score yet.

Spoke with a couple of the Texas State guys as they were heading to the bus after the UCLA game. They're feeling rather sore but no major injuries that I heard of. Hope they get a good nights sleep.

Relating to what you just said, I got an email from John Campbell's dad late tonight with a report that Texas State had 2 concussions, one broken rib, and one sprained ankle. Hopefully those two with concussions are doing all right.

I was informed by email by Southwestern this morning:

TCU informed Bill Bowman and the Southwestern team this morning that their university would not allow them to make the trip down to Georgetown, TX due to the icy conditions in the Metroplex area. There are some icy conditions also in Georgetown. That means their game is cancelled today. The person from the Southwestern team summed it up best: the season that would not start... However, both teams are already at work on rescheduling their game.

No word from yesterday's games:

Texas A&M at Houston
UNT at Texas

Today's games:

SMU vs. Lindenwood
Texas State vs. Chico State

Hadn't heard about the concussions. None of the teams were holding back, even the ones playing two games that day played all-out. I wish those players well. Texas State is going to have a tough time against Chico. And watch out for the Chico fans, they're rather enthusiastic with their support--to the point of almost getting thrown out.

A&M vs Houston

Postby ACE on Sun Feb 19, 2006 1:31 pm

HOUSTON - Amid blustery conditions, Texas A&M got back on track against the University of Houston. After jumping to a sizeable lead early, Texas A&M cruised to a 15-7 win. Many younger players showcased talent despite the sloppy conditions resulting from rain earlier in the week.
