The Big XII is somebody else's name. We like Plano Shootout, no chance of a lawsuit.

Games last year were played on average in 1:48 minutes, so they can get them in the windows provided.

Are these games official? Only an hour and fourty-five minutes long?

No offense Karl... but games must go quicker in Texas. I can't remember the last time a full-length college game (15 min. quarters with full rules) went final in 1:48.

Lets see:
60 minutes of game time on the game clock
2 minutes between quarters
10 minutes at half time
equals 74 minutes of hard time provided you have 100% perfect timekeeper coverage.

Subtracting from your average 1:48 game time, that leaves 34 minutes for all the down time during a game (penalty enforcements, substitutions, stick checks, balls on the end line, injuries, misc. delays) - 8.5 minutes per quarter.

Hate to be the realist, but just don't see it happening.

First, I am not part of the Plano Shootout and have nothing to do with the game times.

As for the game stat - that figure was given to me by the CAA in our region for the average time for games played last year.

We had a similar situation this year, when three games were played at OSU at 2:00 HR intervals. I asked if it was enough time. Reply, "we finish our games in under two hours."

If per rule, it can be done with 34 minutes to spare at 1:48 minutes, then it can be done in under two hours with an additional 12 minutes to spare. . . or at least the organizers (all LSA officials) believe it can be done.

You might not have anything to do with the game times Karl, but you certain can advise them as UNT coach and LSA Conference Director that is unreasonable to expect bracket college games into 2-hour back to back slots.

I still can't remember the last full-length college game run that short (1:48) and I officiate probably 15 - 20 college games per year (for the last 8 years). I had two games last weekend - One took 2:10, the other took 2:05 and neither game had a lot penalties. A quick game with minimal penalties and good table crews can run 1:50 - 1:55. Most college games go 2:00 - 2:05 - 2:10.

P.S. You aren't even alloting any time for warm-ups.

and why arent we playing in this? meant to ask you about this earlier. Did it just not fit in with the scheduling?
