72 hr rule?

I'm wondering, does every conference have the same 72 hour rule for inputting stats and scores on the uslmdia site or is that just the GRLC that has that rule? If it is every conference then I'm wondering why there are many teams that haven't done this for games that took place well over 72 hours, and if they are facing fines?

So how often is someone checking on these things then, or is it more of a case where a team has to be reported before it is recorded against them?

The website time and date stamps every entry. We have the records, and they'll be checked throughout the season.

I like the rule, but I think it puts more of burden on teams. It means they have to try and secure a laptop when traveling a far distance. Then they have to find a hotel that has internet access available. Sometimes these are not the cheapest and may be further away from the field.

I think as long as some sort of warning--even an automated one--is sent to the teams after they miss the first and second report deadlines, a system like this is fair. And it will only take one good team being declared inelgibile for nationals for people to remember in the future.

The only real danger with a rule like this is if the governing body wimps out on enforcement. Then you lose all credibility and will never be able to enforce it in the future. But I'm sure the MDIA is prepared to make an example out of some team if necessary.

I don't believe there's a university in the MDIA that doesn't have internet access in the library or student union. It will take some effort, but is not a burden

I'm sure the MDIA is prepared to make an example out of some team if necessary.

I am sure we aren't alone in making trips that last longer than 72 hours.... That being said, I am a computer geek, so I'm sure I'll have access. I think it's good for the league, but it will be difficult for some teams.
