I think this is a huge game in the WCLL. Anyone else have any thoughts?

DG

They are in different divisions, so this is not a huge WCLL game. They probably will both win their respective divisions and make it to the WCLL final 4.

I just think it is really big for both of them, UCSB showing they can play even though they lost so much last year and for Poly to put themselves back in the hunt for nationals after a hiatus last year.

I think it is a big game for UCSB because a win there can go a long way towards convincing voters that they are still an elite team, despite the close Chapman win. I know Bluevelvet feels that Chapman is for real, but I don't see many voters around the country sharing that sentiment...at least in the short run. Chapman could destroy everyone this weekend, and it would make UCSB's victory vs. Chapman look that much better.

I would add that I think Poly has higher aspirations than just going to nationals. If they want people around the country to see them as an elite team, they have to play and beat the top teams. Wins against UCSB and BYU in the same week would go a long way towards acheiving that "next level" status.

If the goal is just to get to nationals, or the WCLL final 4, then I agree that it is not a big game. I just think there is more on the line here.

$0.02 deposited.

I know we are still a while from the game but will anyone have updates for the rest of the country? I will use all of DG's 2 cent deposits to pay for the updates. (it should add up to a lot of money now).

I was just just thinking about this. I wonder where these deposits are going?

I heard that Sonny is buying a new car - I am not sure if there is a correlation...

As a poll voter, I'm really interested in the outcome of BYU's foray into the WCLL, Chapman's apparent resurgence, and clearly - the Poly/UCSB game.

I'll certainly add my $.02 if it helps someone send updates to this board on the CP/UCSB game ....

GP, I save the $0.02 moniker for special posts. Sonny probably is saving those pennies up because you won't fork over the money to be Premium! BTW, I'm headed to Hillsborough in the next couple of days. What was that deli you guys ate at when you did the camp there?

Catlax/Bluevelvet, is anyone going to be phoning in scores tonight? I'll be in SB on Monday for the BYU/UCSB game and could phone in scores if you don't already have a source for that game.

Sorry, I have been in court in San Francisco all morning (as an attorney, not a defendant) so I will not be making the 5 hour trip to Santa Barbara. I will get the final score by cell phone after the game is complete.
I do have some news on the game, however. UCSB is really banged up right now with 3 starters out or very limited for Cal Poly. Hopefully, they will be back to full strength for BYU and CSU.

5-1 SB with 4:30 left in the 2nd quarter

Poly had an illegal stick. 3 minute unreleasable penalty. SB took advantage.

Poly is inverting on offense into a 2-4 set with little success.

Damon Conklin-Moragne is marking Tim Casey.

DG, the name of the place escapes me, but it may be the best deli i have ever been to. It was right on the main drag of town, about 2 blocks west of the Salvation Army. I will see if I can find out anything online for it. As for teh scores, please give me updates. I will be willing to update after every goal.
