LSA Week 4 (Feb 15th - 21st) - Discuss/Report Scores

As for the jet lag comment, I'm pretty sure our guy was kidding. However we do have half of our team, myself included, driving in a van out to California. It will take us at least 8 hours just to get out of Texas.

Crazy....that's ...well, just crazy.

As much as I am looking forward to this weekend, the drive from California to Texas is going to be killer... Thanks for the luck.

luck?! buddy that's a rough a drive. Thru the Mad Max wasteland called West Texas. Then through the desolate desert southwest. Geez-if you get past the road pirates, then the illegal Mexican Drug runners, then the Aliens (the little green guys) in NM, then finally you get to play three games in three days and drive back. Brother that makes the Discovery Channels Eco-Challenge look like a trip to Disney World. I wish you all luck.

Just curious why Texas State is driving to California? I know budgets are tight, but with gas as high as it is and horrible gas mileage in 15 passenger vans, surely it wouldn't have been that much more to fly? I have family in California and I get tickets between $130-180 all the time. Anyways, just curious and best of luck.

We looked into group rates for plane tickets and we never found anything great. Everyone that is flying payed for it out of pocket, those that could not afford it are in the van, which comes out of our school's funds. It is cheaper to fly into LAX or San Diego, but then you have to rent cars and it gets real expensive. This way we have a large vehicle for team transportation once we are out there. Plus, road trips are just fun. :)

You know what makes all of this better is that you got Mad Max Mello in charge of that whole crew. It just fits. Good Luck to you guys.

All stats should be entered into the uslmdia.org site. We pull our data from that site.

Mad Max wasteland? Ah man I take offense to that... Mad max could never survive out here!

I'll tell you guys though, half your drive is Texas, good thing we love this state so dearly.

For the folks living in North Texas (Fort Worth, Arlington, Dallas, Denton, et al.), what is the current weather up in that area? What is the probable forecast for tomorrow night through Sunday?

In the Waco/Temple/Palestine area, we were given a "winter weather watch" for possible accumulation of either ice or sleet. We were given warnings to be careful driving on bridges or overpasses.

UTA - 9 Fort Lewis - 11 Good game on both ends of the ball. The game was not decided till the last minute when Fort Lewis scored in transition to pull ahead by 2. Thanks to Fort Lewis for making the long trek down from Durango and playing with class the entire game.
