And yet, I don't think they're DI for football. There's an exception for hockey, where a team can be Di in hockey but not in other sports. You are right that Maine is DI for hockey, thought.

Colorado College is the same...DI for hockey, DIII for everything else.

University of New Hampshire is Division 1-A for all sports except football, where they are Division 1-AA.

Maybe I'm way off but I thought Alabama was in the GRLC back in the beginning and still owed the league $ so they were on probation? Maybe I made that up in my sleep though. Thats always a possibility.

university of connecticut just recently moved up to d1-a football program from d1-aa but have had a dominant d1-a basketball program for a while... a lot of schools do this, especialy with basketball.
