Best MDIA facilities?

that pic was taken during the fall, the field looks good during the fall. i am sure all the restrictions this year will help from killing the grass. at the end of spring is when it dont look so good.

I loved the field up at Michigan. Very nice facility(The competition is less accomadating though).
I also enjoyed playing at Liberty University. Nice stadium. Beautiful campus. All around good place to play.

I'm surprised that the old Ags didn't mention playing on Simpson Drill Field for those"big" games (did I just date myself?). The field was plush and right in the center of campus for all to see. Sounds like the Citadel, at least when we got to play before Corps reviews. Talk about home field advantage. Nothing like shaved heads in Khaki yelling their heads off. But the best field that the country doesn't know about is Houston's Carl Lewis. I got to play a club game there. The whole set up is nicer than what the Rattlers have had to endure the past two years.

If we are going to throw every field out there, then let's get the "Smurf Turf" into the discussion. After this year, Utah Valley State, University of Montana, and Fort-Lewis College will all be able to say they have all played on the most "unique" field in all the land.

Bronco are you saying that the lax teams get to use the big stadium out there? Does that blue turf mess up your vision. I watced a few BSU game son the tube this year and found that blue turf actually made me feel sick-literally, messed with my brain.

the U of H carl lewis stadium is a very nice place to play.....and they practice at the indoor facility at the alumni center on the turf.

PigPen, that's what I'm saying. We only get a couple of games in there this year, but next year we're supposed to have our choice between the smurf turf, and a field at BSU's soccer complex. The turf doesn't screw with us, but I can't speak for other teams. It's been known to throw a couple of teams off in the past. Guess there must be something about playing on blue instead of green.

Michigans field house was cool. They had annoucers and music playing between quarters. They also had electronic game stats kept for the game and were printed off for each team when the game was over. Very nice facility.

We are blessed with Williams Stadium at Liberty University. We have the very best facility in the SELC but there are some Teams out west and icluding Michigan that do also have great facilities. You can go to the Liberty Athletic site and get a look at Williams Stadium.

I may seem like the minority, but when you play at Va Tech, sitting on the grass hill watcjing the teams play on grass seems to bring old memories rushing back, as for turf, from where I've been..i thaught Indianas inside facility was awesome.

Anyone seen Liberty University field in VA. We have turf fielded stadium that we use. We have a new facility being built on the one end. Very nice.

Usually, the coin flip helps in that department. One team faces it for 2 quarters a game & 1 quarter per half. Not sure how that can be considered an advantage for BYU.

The setting sun is not an issue until later in the game, usually the 4th quarter. You can ask other teams that play there, and it may only be coincidental (wink, wink), but the visiting team usually ends up in the sun field in the 4th quarter. Funny how things work out some times. . . .

I am going to speak slowly so CATLAX and rmstolley can follow along. South field at BYU runs east and west (the big rocky thing with the "Y" on it is east of the field). If the game is going to be on a weekday then the start time will most likely be sometime after 4:00pm. The sun (for some time now) sets in the western sky. Therefore after a few seconds of thought one can quickly determine which quarter one would like to play defense on the west goal.

Now if you are saying that BYU cheats by having the officials that ref the games in Provo use a two-headed coin, then I would agree with all the winking going on. Or maybe the BYU captains use a Jedi mind trick on the opposing teams captains to get them to choose the "bad" side. Again we can all wink at each other if that is the case. If neither one is the case I suggest you quit whining about which side of the field luck has placed you on.

Whoa there, BB. Slow down fella. Nobody accused anyone of cheating. If I was aware of a situation that I could take advantage of, I would do the same in a heartbeat. There's absolutely nothing wrong with that. That is part of the "homefield advantage." I'm suggesting that visitors probably don't give that as much thought, whereas BYU knows it exists. If I were them, I wouldn't share that info either. Either way, I'm not the only person who has noticed this.
