Best Players from one high school

Because they are from San Diego and all of the posters are from NorCal. Last year Torrey Pines, La Costa Cyn, and Coronado were all good. They went back east and beat a NY high school and they all beat SI.
But, in years past, the Nor Cal teams mentioned (BHS, ODowd, SI and Acalanes club) were the best.

Don't forget Poway, who (among other things) won the inaugural CIF San Diego Section Championships in 2002.

The player from Serra high school was Spencer Wright who was an All-American for Syracuse.

does washington get any love? mercer island and bainbridge island alone produce like 8 all americans and D1 players every year. as far as D1 players to available schools go...washington has a high percentage both male and female lacrosse at D1 players. just ask yourslef.....where did one of CSU's top attackmen come from....keltin came from bainbridge.

heritage and eaglecrest also big producers of talent from colorado. Nappi from heritage played with the mammoth for a while after college and eaglecrest produced CSU highest scorer mike roth, as well as current AA nick harper.

there is also a new d guy from bainbridge who looks promising.

Back to the original topic again, I noticed a few omissions from the O'Dowd famous alumni. The two most glaring omissions were Eric Ryan, a very, very good defenseman for Cal (2 WCLL first team defense selections) who started his career at Ithaca and Kevin Terry, who started at SSU and finished at Cal. The others that I noticed missing were Nick Stratton, who scored two goals in UCSB's '04 Championship win over CSU, Conan Kelly, a very solid defenseman for UC Davis and myself, Michael Jennaro, who played football and lacrosse for Saint Mary's College and made some WCLL All-League Teams in the process. Another missing O'Dowd alum is Jarred Whitfield who began at Mercyhurst but was unheard of after his first year as far as I can remember.

Everyone talks about Julian, but watch out for Tamir Elterman this year. He is one of the best defensive middies I have seen in awhile. He also graduated from BHS.

Bainbridge Island has turned out many great USLIA/MDIA players over the years. The Frosh D-Man at CSU is Dylan Preble, while LMU has Frosh Attackman Joe Picha. Kelten Johnson (CSU '04) and Brett Schwager (UW '04) graduated last year. There are many other B.I. Spartans sprinkled around the MDIA, and currently at NCAA programs: Spencer Evans, Denver; Adam Smith, Bryant; Peter Van Der Hoek, Maine Maritime, to name one in each NCAA DI, DII and DIII. Washington has senior Middie Erk Steinecker and Sophomore Attack Ross Maloney as our current B.I. contingent.

I'd say that Bishop O'Dowd has produced the best middies in the USLIA in recent years. The Moon Brothers and Kevin Terry dominated and Pat Byrd will be one of, if not the best middie in the next few years. I also agree that Eric Ryan was an amazing defenseman, perhaps the greatest that ever played.

Wow, that is a bold statement. Having played against Eric Ryan, I can agree that he was a very good defenseman, but also having played alongside some other truly exceptional D men (ie: Mark Plonkey, Todd Prager), he was not at their level. Tremendous player: yes; "Greatest that ever played:" a bit over the top in my opinion.

I would give Berkeley High the edge over ODowd and SI when it comes to middies. ODowd & SI had better attack but BHS is pretty much acknowledged to be the "middie academy" of NorCal. BHS has had 4 college AA's since the Moon's graduated and 10 starters on MDIA & D1 teams since the Moon's graduated...

I didn't count LSM as they are part of the defense. I'm sure you meant that Alex Wilson is one of the best short stick defenders, right?
Well it looks like both Berkeley and SI had more and better middies than ODowd. Maybe that is why ODowd has usually come out on the short end since the Moon twins graduated.
