I'm curious if anyone picked up any unexpected talent in their freshman class, and if the new players you knew about before are going to have impacts right away. Just an opportunity to praise the work young guys are putting in.

Ok, so it's really quiet - I'll get things started for some teams. Don't know alot about most teams this season - lot's of graduation losses, but the incoming players are better than ever. I know that there are more than one or two new guys - but to get started, I'll just throw out a couple of names.

UofM:
Kevin Bice - Verona WI - M/A
Ben Clauson - Queens Coll T-fer N.C - Mid.

St. Thomas:
Dustin Clark. EP - Mid.
Brian Crosby EP - Def.

St. Johns
Brian Strauss Mahtomedi M/A
Mike Freeman Eastview LSM/D
Justin Gervais Totino Grace - M

Mankato:
Heard they have a new goalie ? Goodfellow is gone?

Anyone else want to chime in?

EC new talent

Postby Adam G on Wed Jan 25, 2006 3:43 am

EC'll tout these fellas, in addition to the guys coming back from last year;

Defense- Mike Tatone, D, Robbinsdale/Armstrong (MN)
Mike Storts, D, Verona HS (WI)

Attack- Jordan Mueller, A, Waunakee HS (WI)
Mike Deering, A, Madison Memorial (WI)

Midfield- Ryan Riebel, MF, Mankato East HS (MN)
Nate Brown, MF, Little Foot HS (WI)

Keep- Mitch Davis, GK, Chaska HS (MN)

Yeah, we're real excited about this year...

Did Zevelev or Stuntebeck graduate? Or that sick attack from SJU? I haven't checked the UMN or UWSP sites yet....

UWSP Rookies

Postby Dawglax20 on Wed Jan 25, 2006 2:23 pm

Yes, Stutenbeck did graduate. We have a new attack and new defense personel. Kennedy is back this year and is our only returning starter on attack. While our D has picked up a few new talented guys. Our middies are pretty much the same with a about 3-4 freshmen that could be very good for us and will see a lot of playing time this year.

I won't lie, we are a very young team this year, but from what I can tell, we have plenty of talent.

Steve - Don't sell Kennedy short - I'm very impressed with him, and as a Junior, I'll bet he'll be a scoring leader.

He'll take a lot of the offensive pressure off of your new guys.

I didn't mean to sell Kennedy short at all. He is the offense of our team this year and has been a great player for us for the past two years. I only meant that he will be our only returning attack from last year.

Any team younger?

Kato only has two seniors this year...and I think about 8 freshmen off the top of my head.

EC's young as always being a third year UMLL team, but the talent coming in makes us the best we've been. I believe we've got myself and one defenseman returning as seniors, with one junior returning at attack.

Not to mention, our roster is a third larger than it was last year.

Yeah, Eugene Zevelev graduated, but they replaced him with an amazing attackman in Kevin Bice.
