Most Anticipated Regular Season Game?

Postby yourmom on Wed Jan 11, 2006 1:15 am

So im still figuring out rivalries between teams and who the "best of the best is", but I wondered what games during the regular season everyone is looking forward to. Watching, Playing, Coaching, or otherwise.

Truth be told I hope to watch the BYU vs. CSU on April 14th. Hoping it will be televised like last year?

St. Johns vs St. Thomas is always a battle and as good as a rivalry as you will find club lax. The rivalry is huge between the schools for lacrosse and just about everything else (has the ohio state/mighigan feel to it), lots of tradition, history and plenty of bad blood. Basically your season is judged on how you do in the one game.

UMD vs U of MN is a heated battle as UMD was stunned after loosing the UMLL title game. Lots of bad blood between these two teams espically after last years regular season game in duluth.

I dont think you will find any of these games on tv though......

Doesn't have to be on t.v. just wondering what to check the forum's for, and who to keep an eye on.

Not the end of the world, but while checking the site I noticed there will be weekly podcasts! Im impressed.

Theres also another lax podcast at http://laxoutloud.com/
Some guy talks alot and is drab right now, but hopefully it will pick up during the season. He claims to cover Club Lax as well, but i havn't heard a word from him yet.

I know we are excited for all of our games this year, but going to BYU and being on TV will be sweet. First time for us and I know we are looking forward to a great trip to Utah. Should be a good game too!

On the B side of things the Claremont/ U San Diego is always a good game. Never a dull moment in that matchup. And this year it takes place right before the First Four in San Diego.

We're also lucky enough this year to have St. John, Northern Colorado and Pacific Lutheran coming into town for the President's Day Shootout. They should give the WCLL teams a run for their money.

Both schools are located on Rte 24 in MA a few miles from each other

Also, we are traveling to Lindenwood (Feb 24) for what should be a good weekend of Lacrosse with Lindenwood, Northeastern, Oakland and Minnesota all playing each other.

I love that 24 Cup. Is it the same one every year?

thanks "yourmom"

I have no idea how to do that..

yes, Dan, it is the same trophy every year.. The keg was added after the first "24 cup" game.. but it is only 2 years old.. The rivalry goes back to the early 90's however.

a better trophy is our alumni game trophy. It is a red keg with all the scores printed on it from each years game..It started in 2000. The Alumni won this years game 7-4 and hold it until next fall.. If I could get a picture up, I would.
