GRLC Tournament Update

GRLC Tournament Update

Postby A.J. Stevens on Tue Jan 03, 2006 4:32 pm

For those of you that did not receive my email.

Gentlemen,

The GRLC executive board was recently notified of an officiating issue with the location of our conference tournament. It would be difficult to staff the event at the proposed location. We immediately began looking at alternate venues. After much discussion, the 2006 GRLC Tournament will be held at Benedictine University located in Lisle, IL. Benedictine will host the 2006 Div II NCAA Woman's Lacrosse Championship along with serving as the home of Chicago's new professional lacrosse team. There will be no cost for the GRLC with sponsors including Lacrosse America & Brine. North Central College, located minutes away in Naperville, IL, will host 2 Friday night games. North Central was the home of Chicago's professional soccer team for 3 seasons. We will compete in lighted artificial surface stadiums at both locations. I will send hotel and travel details in early April.

Good work to the exec. board for resolving this issue as well and as quickly as they did!

Just 1 question though, to get an idea of where this place is and get a cost idea for a bus, how far is Lisle from St. Louis?

To get a better idea beckner, you are looking about an hour away from chicago, and about 5-7 depending on your speed from st.louis.

Maps.google.com gives a pretty good idea off what time and distance is.

Thanks to the exec. board for their swift action on this matter.
