Li = 4-5
T, F, CJ = 7-2
D, N, L are all 8-1
S, CU are all 9-0
Things just got interesting. After the MPC Computer bowl we will be down to just one undefeated team.
BOWL PICK'em
I'm running a Bowl pool at my office (42 entrants), and as on here, the great thing is you actually tune in to these games and care about what's going on. In the process you get to see some outstanding football games, such as the Az State/Rutgers and Nevada/UCF games. Gotta love those offensive fireworks!

Right on. I have watched USC enough already this year... I am excited about seeing some of the schools play that usually are not on television every weekend.
How great is it for some of these smaller bowls to get to be the only game on television for a night game? I'd bet those guys from Rutgers were on cloud nine last night. What a great experience for those players and coaches to play in such a big game after years of struggling.

guaranteed locks?
last night's rutgers game was a good one. who am i kidding, both arizona state and nevada were fortunate to win in my opinion. so much for my "guarantees." hopefully nebraska can make it a closer game than i originally anticipated.

Whew that was a close one, i turned the BC/BSU game off after BC was up 27-0 i turn it on again like an hour later and BSU is driving with a minute left and they're down by six...BC dodged a bullet on that one. Im surprised by how good the bowls are this year, of course it might just be because i actually care about the outcomes

Did anyone see the Michigan/Nebraska game? The announcers said it best, "this is the worst officiated game Ive ever seen". Michigan had every right to be mad about the outcome. The lack of using instant replay on CRUCIAL plays when it is available for bowl games, the blatent pass interference that wasnt called in the red zone, the 47 seconds that came off the clock on a single Nebraska down due to bad clock operation and officiating woes(1:05->:18), and the entire Nebraska team on the field before the final play ended. Announcers arent really supposed to rip on the refs too much but Im glad something was said this time. Disgusting.

While I do agree that it wasn't the finest officiating, just want to point out a couple things.
1) Michigan had players and coaches on the field too at the end.
2) Ask Penn State fans (or about any other Big Ten school) about refs and Michigan and they will tell you that tonight was just karma coming back at them.

Both games yesterday were outstanding (as most of the bowl games have been so far this year). Anyone who thinks these bowl games are meaningless just needs to ask the players, coaches, and fans involved with yesterday's games.
P.S. The officiating in the Michigan/Nebraska game was pretty bad.

Ok, so last night I found out that 300 drunk people at a bar cannot change the outcome of a football game, even though every person was screaming about Michigan getting the shaft. By the way, if 89 (Michigan) would have just cut back towards the middle of the field at the end, we might have seen him in the endzone because most of the Nebraska players had started celebrating. Bowl games are awarded to officials for outstanding work during the regular season. I can guarantee that next year this crew won't be invited.
I guess the blue turf advantage wasn't enough because BC tried to give the game to Boise. But like everyone has said, this years bowl games are extremely entertaining.
T, L, CU went 0-2 last night while everyone else went 1-1. Sherkjr has finally lost; ending his streak at 10 wins.

I agree 100%.
On a side note, what is Michigan's record in bowl games? I feel like every time I watch them in a bowl game they lose.

Is there any NCAA regulation about the color of one's field/turf?
Don't think so.
First "home" loss for Boise State on the famed blue turf in like 30+ games.

U of M's bowl record is now 18 - 19 after last night's debacle. While the officiating left much to be desired, a lot of the plays were extremely close. The bad thing was that M had to use timeouts in order to get reviews done - that was the travesty of the whole thing.
I really, really wish Michigan would have scored on that wild last play - it would have been interesting to watch them sort that one out! It sounded like the refs made a beeline for the locker room - I wonder if they were leaving before the play ended - a lot of folks obviously thought it was over on the incomplete pass/lateral/fumble.
In the other game, Boise St had first and 10 with about 40 seconds left, and the QB tossed it right to the BC guy - wonder if it was a broken route.
I also like the announcers after BSU scored their 3rd TD, "Don't go anywhere, we've got a ball game!" A few minutes later they break away to the start of the Michigan game. Doh!! Heidi revisited.

I'm not happy about my loss, but I'm sort of happy it happened to Michigan. They did have their chances to win that game so I don't feel sorry for them. On third and 8 with about 2 minutes to go, the receiver dropped a perfect pass on about the 10 yard line, enough for the 1st down. Then came the questionable non-pass interference call near the goal line on 4th down. But why was the QB passing into double coverage? There was an open receiver about 3-4 yards inside the other receiver who would have had an easy touchdown.
Never expected to get to 10 wins before getting 1 loss. Considering 5-6 wins have been decided in the final minute, luck has been on my side. We'll see how long it lasts....
