Your favorite search engines

Postby Brent Burns on Fri Dec 23, 2005 10:54 am

I thought I'd start a minor thread involving search engines. After observing a lot of excellent/intellectual/thought-provoking (ok, enough of those adjectives) trivia questions and other things, I noticed that some of y'all used several search engines such as Google, Wikipedia, Lycos, etc.

My favorite search engines in particular order:

1) Google
2) Wikipedia (I would at times take things with grain of salt, but it is a good one though)

As for checking out information about particular actors/actresses and about movies (trivia, of course), I would use:

Internet Movie Database www.imdb.com

Yahoo search engine is tied in with Google.

I agree with your selections. Wikipedia is a fun site.

Google Earth is a cool new tool. Have you checked out Google Moon yet?
Very cool, they show the sites where the lunar landings occured, and it is great fun when you zoom all the way in.

Another fun Google search (which may have been posted previously) is to go to the main search bar, type in failure and click I'm Feeling Lucky

There are several of those. Just play around with it and type in different words.

download it and fly around your city, house, or famous landmarks. Some of em are in 3D... It's great for wasting time at work or in class.
