Winfield was drafted by:
MLB: San Diego Padres
NFL: Minnesota Vikings
NBA: Atlanta Hawks
ABA: Utah Stars
Ah! That means Dave Winfield outdid Bo Jackson although he only played baseball. I know that Bo played briefly in NFL and MLB. I am just thinking in terms of how many sports, not actually playing in one of those sports.

The next question comes from this response.
Who was the pitcher that gave up this homerun and what team did he play for?

A radio clip to rival any of Johnny Most's rantings about the Celtics fantastic finishes.
CORRECT. Ralph Branca of the Brooklyn Dodgers.
Ok, how about this? That famous call of "the Giants win the pennant." Who is the voice that made that call and who do we have to thank for preserving the call (two separate people)?

I probably should disqualify myself from answering this being a lifelong Giants follower. The voice is none other than long time Giants announcer Russ Hodges. Spent many days in my youth with the transistor radio listening to Russ Hodges & Lon Simmons call Giants games. Now how about that for dating myself!

CORRECT. Russ Hodges is correct. The reason that call lives on is that a recording was made of the broadcast by a Dodger fan, who was waiting for the Dodgers to win the game and happened to be recording it at home for play later.
Here is another fact about that game. Thompson hits the home run in the game winning home run (walk-off had yet to be run into the ground by ESPN) in biggest game of the year and then that night takes the Staten Island ferry home to be with his family.
