Unless onpoint (Alex Smith) has something coming up for the USLIA.com front page, I thought we all can chime in and look back at USL MDIA 2005 Year in Review with the highlights.
I will start off with LSA for the time being where Texas Tech finally won the LSA crown this year after the past few years with the LSA title won by Texas A&M and Texas.
The major highlight would be without any question is no CSU for their run for another USL MDIA championship in 2005.
Who wants to chime in with the highlights?

This may come down as one of the best quotes/quips for 2005. This quote came from Mark Anderson, former Texas Tech head coach when his team made a long trek from Lubbock to Austin to take on the Longhorns on Sunday, March 6. It turned out that the game was cancelled that day.
Mark Anderson was quoted saying (as of March 6, 2005):
Gas- 60 dollars
Time in Austin- 14 hrs
Time in the car- 12 hrs
Time wasted on another cancelled game at UT- priceless...no wait worthless.
Hey, I do not know how to transport that quote from the LSA Forum to this one. This quote came from one of the threads of the Game of the Week March 5 or something.

Top highlight:
Will Patton scoring 2 goals in the last 2 minutes (the last one from his knees pictured above) of the WCLL championships to lead UCSB to an 8-7 win over Sonoma and their 3rd consecutive WCLL championship.

How about Lindenwood going from the National tournament to being placed on suspension to being fully reinstated.
First Division B National Championship.
UTA making the LSA championship after using Six goalies throughout the season due to injury.
Another great story- UTA LSM/G (will with hold name) returning to the field in the Fall after being hospitalized for liver complications, and at one point being on the waiting list for a Liver Transplant. One of the best guys I know, takes great care of himself, in great shape, doesn't put anything toxic into his body. It was so great seeing him back on the field. He has always been a commited teammate and always is one of the top players on the field because of his work ethic. He has been competing for the goalie position and will start at LSM if he doesn't play goalie. I can't wait till the spring to see what he continues to do. God definately was with him.
Heres to another eventful year in 2006.
Good luck to everyone and stay healthy.

the PCLL, LSA, SELC, UMLL playoff all had (somewhat) upset finishes. Triple OT game SSU over CU. First ever #8 over #1 upset FSU over BYU. UCSB pulling it all together in the 2nd half of the national champoinship (and season).

With this one which will be one of the major, future USLMDIA trivia questions(Ethan, I know you will chalk that down on your trivia list), UCSB and University of San Diego, two California teams winning Div. A and Div. B titles, respectively in the same year.
