For the record the NCAA classifies schools into divisions thusly:

http://www.ncaa.org/about/div_criteria.html

I-A and I-AA only apply to football.

Montana is Division I in basketball. Judd Heathcote coach there before going to Michigan State. His most famous player at Montana went on to a brief but spectacular (an and off the court) career in the NBA. His most famous quote, when asked about the Knicks' (for whom he was playing at the time) situation was ,"The ship be sinkin'!" Who was he?

Hint: He also was the first NBA player to be suspended for life due to substance abuse.

CORRECT. Back to Roosevelt Greer. Rosie had a peculiar hobby for a NFL lineman. What was it?

Here is a college sports question I've always found interesting.... Name the only five schools that have won a Division 1 championship in football and men's basketball.

Ethan, you stay on the sideline for this one.

CORRECT! He also became an ordained minister and served as spiritual advisor to several celebrities including arguably the most famous alumnus of Galileo HS (located next to Ghiardelli Plaza) in San Francisco. Name this alumnus?

Sonny has a great question. I can name the women's school to have done it, since I don't know much about men's college basketball, since I went to Tennessee and all. But I do know that Texas is 17-points worse than we are!

I'd have to add my home boys from Ann arbor to the list of combo winners.

Hacksaw Reynolds

Postby Troy Hood on Tue Dec 20, 2005 5:09 pm

A reply to the Hacksaw Reynolds question:

Reynolds, after losing a game in college, became so enraged he cut a Volkswagen Beetle in half using only a hacksaw. (I'll bet he went through a few blades - even if it was just a beetle!)

CORRECT. Troy, you left out the most important part of all. Where did Reynolds go to school?

CORRECT. Rosie and OJ were buddies from their days in Buffalo.

Any luck with why Andy Messersmith is known as "Channel" 17?
