I dont think I have ever seen this here.
I am making a warm up cd for my high school team for this season and I need suggestions. I am pretty musically illiterate and can't remember names of songs or artists. So basically I need a lot of suggestions.
Oh yeah, I coach at a private school and I'm very sure they wont like profanity.

Well since it's a private school, might I suggest a little Beethoven, followed by a Mozart cantata and a waltz by Franz Schubert? That should get the little preppies in the proper frame of mind, and the parents won't object.

Hahaha if you want a good entrance song you cant go wrong with:
Seperate Ways- Journey
just to name a few off the top of my head, i was usually in charge of making a cd, but no swear words is difficult

If you wanted to go classical with a twist try Emerson, Lake and Palmer's version of "Fanfare for the Common Man" Good beat, no swear words--in fact no words at all!! ELP's Karn Evil 9: 1st Impression-Part 2 (aka Welcome Back my Friends to the Show that Never Ends) from their Brain Salad Surgery album is pretty cool. They also did a rock version of Pictures at an Exhibition.
I know laxfan25 was ribbing you, but here's some good classical pieces with a harder edge:
Night on Bald Mountain
Grieg's Peer Gynt Suite-- The Hall of the Mountain King
Holst's the Planets--Mars and Jupiter
Tchaikovsky's 1812 Overture
Rossini's William Tell Overture
Bach's Toccata and Fugue (Think your classical horror movie music)
Beethoven's pretty good too

I would keep the profanity out just to keep the penalty box cleared. I know a few refs that would throw a flag on the music.
The Rangers used to always play Dire Straits Walk of Life when they took the field. I know it is fairly mellow, but I liked it. I always thought that someone should play Cotton Eyed Joe when an official makes a bad call. Give the crowd a reason to yell the bs word.

ARRGH!!! How could I forget that one!!! It has a Horn part that is just phenomenal!! It's also one of my favorites, really makes you want to pick up a weapon and start swinging!

Personally I hate it anymore. When the Air Cav moved onto the small Kaserne where I lived, they started blasting that at 0530 every morning through loud speakers. Got really old, really fast especially since I worked rotating shifts.

I didn't know that they actually listen to that song... Have you ever seen Apocalypse Now? I always thought it was a pretty cool/screwed up part of a movie because all these guys are flying around blasting people to a soundtrack... But I guess warming up to a soundtrack isn't so bad. But yah, I was about to suggest listening to that song; it is awesome.
