Friday's Lacrosse Trivia Question

Non-lacrosse specific topics.

I don't know the answer to this but I want to know so I will ask it.

Who are the only players to be 4 time USLIA-MDIA All-Americans?

I don't really want to go through all my IA championship programs so someone else can confirm answers.

Pardon my ignorance, but who is Sam Stadler, and what is his award for?

For the love Jehovah and for the last time, it is the United States of America, not American. Thus, one is an All-America selection, a city is an All-America city, we all live in America.

Simialrly, one is a Hall of Fame member, not Hall of Famer.

URRGGGHHH!!!!!

Ethan, you've got a BIG uphill battle if you're going to convince the world that a certain player is not an All-American, but an All-America. Even reading this it sounds weird.
Dan Marino is a great Hall of Famer too!
Good luck! If this kind of thing causes you that much aggravation, can I have the antacid franchise in your neighborhood? :)

Just did a quick google since you piqued my curiosity. There are actually quite a few sites that have it as All-America Player of the Year etc, but quite a few that don't. To wit:

Three Crusaders Named All-Americans
First Two-Time All-American and Most Since 1987
Capital University had three players named All-Americans in football for just the second time in school history and first time since 1987.
>>FULL STORY

Trevor Alexander Named First Team Verizon Academic All-American
Capital University senior defensive lineman Trevor Alexander (Ashland/Ashland) is a 2002 Verizon Academic All-American College Division First Team selection.

From 13 December in an article published on Espn.com and ABCNews.com:

"Bush headlines AP All-America team
Texas quarterback Vince Young was selected to The Associated Press All-America team released Tuesday, relegating USC's Matt Leinart to second-team."

The NY Times and the AP are pretty well known, I might assume. For the complete article, where it is stated several times as "All-America," check out: http://abcnews.go.com/Sports/ESPNSports/story?id=1402223

I know in it some players are referred to as All-Americans but even that is incorrect. Put it this way, if you ever catch me calling someone and "All-American" or "Hall of Famer" I would be fired. No ifs, ands or buts. Gone!

As for the uphill battle, I got plenty of time.

Where do you work that you would get fired for that?

Tell me where it says that it is not All-American(s). For you see, you quoted an article that contradicts what you say. Therefore, why should I correct myself when you haven't even proved it with your evidence. It might be the All-America team but the members of that team are referenced as All-Americans through out the media, not just the aforementioned article.

Also, do you get offended when someone calls you a Laxer, because you would prefer to be called a lacrosse player?

I just don't get your arguments. Modern language is an ever changing entity. See the excerpt below:
Wikipedia wrote: Individuals selected to All-America teams are generally referred to as All-Americans.

Wikipedia wrote:Other media sources also select All-American teams including ABCSports, ESPN, and CNN-Sports Illustrated.

All-America is what it is. I understand that language is ever changing but somethings are what they are. It is the All-America team, not the All-American. You can refer to one as an All-American but they are selected to the All-America team, not the All-American team.

One is a member of a country club but is not referred to as a country clubber.

Never been referred to as a laxer, though I would prefer lacrosse player.

What is wrong with what I said then if you are agreeing that they can be referenced as All-Americans?
