haha
Dr Pepper was invented in Waco, TX and I believe Big Red was too.

I think Cheerwine was invented in NC, at least that is the only place I have found it. Good stuff, do they even make it anymore?

You bet, Cheerwine is still sold in NC. I will tell a story about that later after some folks file in to read USLIA.com news.

Cheerwine is a burgundy-red soft drink; it is a bubbly cherry conoction. TSULacrosse is right that Cheerwine's birthplace is in NC. Cheerwine does have its website. I think it was created in Salisbury, NC.

Since TSULacrosse already answered for Dr. Pepper and Big Red, both were created in Waco, Texas.

Knowing Cheerwine would get people's attention, I had to throw that in.

Sonny is right that Pepsi was created in NC. You can go to New Bern, NC and find the corner store where Pepsi was made.

I had to bring my wife there because it was fair enough that she allowed me to visit the World of Coca Cola in Atlanta several years ago. I was in heaven when I got to that museum.

Cheerwine is good (probably better with rye. Ah, rye and Coke!) but I prefer Dr. Chek from the ol' Winn-Dixie.

Another favorite of mine is Ale8One sold in the Lexington, KY area. Spicy ginger ale!

Nope, I never heard of Ski soda.

Back to the Cheerwine story, I still believe that it is only sold in NC. Anyway, this family from NC was traveling to Oklahoma and made a stop in that state. They were eating at a restaurant, and the waiteress asked the patrons as to what drinks they would like to have. When it came to this friend's young son (he was probably around 12 or 13), he simply told this lady that he wanted Cheerwine. Befuddled, the waitress told this boy that he was too young to order wine. The NC folks had to patiently tell this waitress that this boy simply forgot that Cheerwine is only sold in NC and is a soft drink.

Whenever we go to NC every summer, I would ask my kids to see if they want to bring home bottles of Cheerwine. I also forgot about their love for Sun Drop, another soft drink also sold in NC.
