Edmonton?

Correct.

Here are some others in no particular order:

What team had the best regular season record (1980-81 thru 1988-89) that did not win a Stanley Cup in the decade?

What team did Brett Hull break in with?

Who was the last NHL player to die from injuries sustained while playing in a game?
(Bonus question: Name the team he was playing for and the opponent of the game he was injured in?)

Name the Original Six?

The 1967-68 season saw the NHL expand for the first time from the Original Six? What six cities were awarded franchises and what were the team nicknames?

What two teams were added for the 1974-75 NHL Season?

What two NHL franchises merged before the start of the 1978-79 season?

The 1979-80 NHL season saw the league grow by four cities? What four WHA franchises were added to the league?

Who was the orginal tennent of the "Igloo" in Pittsburgh?

What two cities did the NHL franchise currently located in New Jersey call home before residing in beautiful East Rutherfor, New Jersey? What were the nicknames of the fanchise in those cities?
(Bonus Question: What is the origin of the New Jersey NHL franchise's nickname?)

What two teams played in the NHL's only outdoor game?
(Bonus Question: Name the venue, year and attendance?)

What Philadelphia Flyers goalie was killed in a car crash during the 1985-86 season?

What was the territory fee that the original owners of the NY Islanders had to pay to the owners of the New York Rangers before being admitted to the NHL?

What is the origin of the NY Rangers nickname?

What is the origin of the Columbus Blue Jackets nickname?

Who was the ESPN Play-By-Play talent who passed away in August 1996?
(He was my favorite and is sorely missed!)

Name the only team to lose three straight Stanley Cup finals and what were the years? (Hint: These years were their first three in the league.)
(Bonus Question: Who was their coach?)

What WHA team did Wayne Gretzky first play for?
(Bonus Question: What future NHL great did he replace on the roster?)

What 1980 US Olympic "Miracle on Ice" player had a father who played on the last US Olympic Hockey team to win the gold Medal?
(Bonus Question: What was the year and location the father won his gold medal in?)

That's all I got now.... more later.

I'll take a stab at a couple of them...

*Brett Hull broke in with the Calgary Flames after one season at UMD (my father was on the committee that tried to recruit him to the Univ of Denver but he couldn't qualify academically)

*Original six: Montreal, Toronto, Boston, NYR, Chicago, Detroit

*The NJ Devils were once the Colorado Rockies

*I believe Edmonton and Montreal played an outdoor game last season, but it could have been an exhibition

*Pelle Lindberg was the Flyer goalie killed in an auto accident. He was also the goalie for Sweden during the 1980 Olympics

*Tom Mees passed away during 1996, he drowned in a backyard swimming pool while trying to save a small child (I believe)

*I think Gretz broke in with Indianapolis

*Don't know who the father is, but the last time they won gold prior to 1980 was in 1960 in Squaw Valley, CA (After looking at the 1960 roster, I would guess one of the Christians was Dave Christian's father. There's also a Paul Johnson, but Mark Johnson's father was UW's legendary coach Badger Bob Johnson)

byualum is right about Brett Hull, The Original 6, the outdoor game, Pelle Lindberg, Gretzky's original team, Dave Christian.

The team that had the best record and didn't win the Cup was probably Philadelphia, some time between 1985 and 1987.

The player that died I believe was Bill Masterton. I think he played for the North Stars.

The 1968 expansion teams were:

St. Louis Blues
Los Angeles Kings
Minnesota North Stars
Philadelphia Flyers

and I think...

Pitssburgh Penguins
California Golden Seals

The 74-75 expansion teams were (I think) NY Islanders and Washington Capitals.

The WHA franchises added were the Edmonton Oilers, Québec Nordiques, Winnipeg Jets, and Hartford Whalers.

The Devils were the Colorado Rockies, and before that, I believe they were the Cleveland Barons. I think the origin of the "Devils" name is related to some sort of haunted area that the arena is in.

The Blue Jackets name is a Civil War reference, I believe.

The team that lost 3 straight Stanley Cups was the St. Louis Blues and their coach was Scotty Bowman.

I think prior to becoming the Colorado Rockies the franchise was the Kanas City ??? (either Blades or Spurs).

I believe the Cleveland Barons eventually merged with the Minnesota North Stars in the late 1970's.

Unbelivable...Gretz replacing Messier. Ten Stanley Cups between them.

And I cheated on the Heritage Classic...played last season at Commonwealth Stadium in front of 57,167 people.
