Rose will be the marquee for sure, but Orange could be a good chance to watch Penn State possibly give Joe Paterno the big victory he needs to retire.

West Virginia is not that good. If the Big East didn't have an automatic BCS bid tied to winning their conference (which I think is a Joke) they wouldn't even make it to the BCS. The Big East is not the powerhouse conference it was a year ago since Miami, VA Tech, and BC left. They are a middle of the road conference.

The best matchup is USC and Texas. This game appears to be a close matchup. USC has Bush, Leinart, and LenDale White and Texas features an incredible running game with Selvin Young, Taylor and Vince Young.

USC has the only two discernable edges in this Game. Location, and coaching. Pete Carrol is as good a coach in College football as we've seen in a long time. Mack Brown has shown in the past to make questionable coaching moves.

I believe this game could very well come down to who gets their team ready to play. If Texas is not prepared, they will get torched like OU did last year. But otherwise I think that Vince Young's ability to perform in big games- Michigan, Ohio State and the Big-12 championship (i'll be it to a far inferior opponent) will be the only way that Texas can win. If Vince plays poorly, ball game. We saw yesterday, that Leinart could play poorly and Reggie Bush can win a game for you (240 plus yards in the first half rushing... ridiculous).

Bush should win the Heisman.

I don't think JoePa is retiring any time soon with the season he's had and another good recruiting year so far. He has also mentioned he would like to have another undefeated season.

I'm glad to see Notre Dame sneek in. I am a huge Irish fan and if LSU and Va Tech don't lose, it was likely that they would not have made it. I agree that USC is going to win unless Vince has a huge game, either way it looks to be a better game than we have had for a BCS championship recently.

You have got to be kidding me. The fact that ND got in is garbage and I don't really want to rant about it right now, but we got shafted and the BCS has to go.

I agree... no way should ND have gotten in. The USC loss is one thing, but losing to MSU at home for your 2nd loss and still getting in over one-loss Oregon is not right. I can't wait to see the BCS go... hopefully the review won't go in its favor.

Cal didn't help their cause last season by getting killed by Texas Tech in the Holiday Bowl.

Hopefully Oregon kills Oklahoma to prove a point that this system is still flawed.

Unfortunately for Oregon they got held out by technicalities. I don't have the official rankings in front of me, but I think both Ohio St. and Penn St. automatically qualified. If the BCS leaves Notre Dame out then they will face anti-trust proceedings in Congress because it would not be open. The rest of the qualifiers are automatic. If TCU had not lost to SMU early on this year then it really would have gotten ugly. If South Florida would have gone then imagine the controversy. Everyone says we need a playoff and I think that is the worst idea. One team would still get left out. It is really time to end the BCS and the bowl alliances. Let the best bowls pick the best matchups and have some fun. Having multiple national champions is not necessarily a bad thing.

I believe Notre Dame is automatically in the mix because they are ranked higher than 12 in the BCS (which is a special "Notre Dame" rule).

I think West Virginia is still a few years away from being really good, but I'd bet they show up to play against Georgia. Georgia will take it 24-10, but WVU will play with some heart...

What's the basis of your argument? I don't see any validity... If anything, it seems that Pac-10 teams and pretty much anyone that plays USC gets the odds in their favor, despite actual talent. I mean, like BSTE Lax said, Cal got worked by Texas Tech, and Texas won their game that year also.

I'm still calling the "upset" with Texas beating USC convincingly.
