Perhaps the most pertinent aspect of this accomplishment is to acknowledge the superb mentoring and coaching that he received while at the U of O. All coaches must strive to find the fine balance between athletic excellence, and discipline, while allowing and even nurturing academic success. I certainly commend Joe and Josh for deftly blending the many aspects of coaching at the collegian level and mentoring the 40+ athletes toward successful and fulfilling lives after college. As everyone knows, not all athletes will be able to make the "big" money that Ben and Danny may make playing professional lacrosse, however it is my hope that all PNCLL athletes will be able to carry the competitive drive and structure which good coaching helps foster.
I recognize the many hours that both Joe and Josh put into coaching for the last four years, and I would like to thank you both for every minute that you have spent making all of these men better.
On a lighter note, I would like to note that Jeremy has seen several of the more "experienced" referees limping more and wearing more knee braces. I hope they understand that he will need to learn and perfect his use of air drills, air saws, mallets, and chisels on somebody, and it might was well be on somebody who has also "missed a few" in their day.
