WHO WANTS SOME? - JAX EXHIBITION SCRIMMAGE DECEMBER 1ST IN ROSE GARDEN

FIRST LOOK INCLUDES FREE PARKING, $1 HOT DOGS AND $1 SODAS

The Portland LumberJax will host their inaugural exhibition scrimmage on Thursday, December 1 at 7p in the Rose Garden free of charge. Fans will get a preview of all the blood, sweat and intensity that makes indoor lacrosse one of the most exciting professional sports.

The night includes free parking, $1 hot dogs and $1 sodas for guests, as the Rose Garden becomes Jax central with music, entertainment and more. This is the first chance for Portlanders to catch the expansion team in action. Free tickets can be downloaded from www.PortlandJax.com and are also available at many retailers around the Portland area.

Thirty-five players are still in contention to make the 23-man LumberJax roster. University of Oregon and Grant High School alum Danny Ernst continues to strive to make his hometown team. All of the signed Jax players will show off their talents through this high-paced, high-action game. With 12 players still left to be cut, the fights, possessions and goals at the exhibition game will be all the more important.

After the scrimmage players will be signing autographs and meeting with fans. This is a great opportunity to meet the National Lacrosse League’s number one draft pick, Brodie Merrill as well as General Manager and Head Coach, Derek Keenan.

Note: Players and coaches will be available for pre-game and post game interviews

Tickets to the LumberJax for each of the nine home games range from $10.00-$25.00, with additional VIP seating available. Season tickets are now on sale starting at $90.00, by calling 503.797.9739 or go to www.PortlandJax.com.

The Portland LumberJax (www.PortlandJax.com) were founded on May 11, 2005 as an expansion franchise in the National Lacrosse League, which features the best lacrosse players in the world. LumberJax are owned by the youngest majority owner in professional sports, 25-year-old Angela Batinovich, who relocated permanently to Portland, OR from California. The LumberJax are one of 11 teams in the NLL and will play eight of the sixteen regular season games at the Rose Garden, which is owned by Portland Arena Management LLC. Global Spectrum, the facility management company for the Rose Quarter, serves as the sales, marketing, promotional, and publicity arm of the LumberJax.

The Jax also have the youngest, and only female owner in the league, Angela Batinovich. You can ask her questions from the IL.com website, here...

There will be two more former MDIA players in this game. Andrew Martin and Peter Morgan from Simon Fraser are both with Portland now.
