Though the end result was a lopsided loss, the Sooners showed promise early, scoring on their first possession of the game, just 13 seconds in.
From there, the more experienced OSU team held the Sooners squad in check.
“We didn’t get many chances later in the game,” advertising junior Michael Allardyce said. “They played really good defense and were more physical than we were.”
In its first year of existence, the team is comprised of players from all over the country, half of whom have never played the game before.
“We’ve got a lot of guys who are new to the game, so this is their first time getting any experience,” Allardyce said.
Head coach and University College freshman Alex Perry started the club over the summer after coming to OU from Columbus, Ohio.
“I’ve been working with these guys since June and it was our first time actually getting together and scrimmaging,” Perry said.
