Discuss/Report Scores for Wed, 2/9/05 - Tues, 2/15
Score
I want to say the final was CSU 24, A&M 8. Somewhere around there anyway. A&M played well the first half, but threw the ball away too many times in the 3rd as CSU pulled away. Deeke had a great game with 4 goals that I saw. Also believe it or not, Dabney played a great game in cage for 3 quarters. As usual, CSU's midfield played really well. Lots of good shots from their middies. They should be contenders again this year, although they seem to have lost some of their swagger and attitude they had when Plonkey played. Not necessarily a bad thing just an observation. Good luck to A&M tomorrow against Auburn. I think the game time moved to 9:00 am, but I can't confirm that.

From Flip's journal also:
The scouting report on the TAMU defense. Appears not to have been a rumor. Three good wins for the Rams so far. They go for the "LSA Championship" tomorrow at 1:30 . . .
The Aggies play aggressive defense, and they do it far from their goal at times, and this afforded us opportunities where individuals found themselves holding the ball with no one between them and the goalie. The right “team” thing to do in those instances is to run like hell right toward the goal and the goalie guy. If no slide comes (and they often didn’t tonight) then let ‘er rip, shoot the rock, find the twine.

Always on point . . .

No slide defense huh? And everyone told me, they slid against the top teams. Well, see ya later A&M, your chances of being in the final four as hinted at in the Championship thread are gone. And, I'm removing your amazing wall paper from my computer. No slide defense. Are you kidding?

As for the "no sliding" defense, A&M has been doing that for years. It's nothing new so why is it an issue this year? Also its not like they dont slide at all but they choose to slide later. And as for this last weekend A&M is a young team along with many other teams in the LSA (including Tech) I won't count them out because its very early in the season and they will be a different team come playoff time, but it is possible that this may not be their year. Just my two cents.

if i'm not mistaken, we slid plenty of times. it's just that this is a new concept for us and we are still working out the kinks in the system. a lot of times we just go too early or too late. sometimes we go when it's not necessary and then leave a pass wide open. we'll get it figured out. congrats to tech on a nice win. they simply came to play and we didn't.
the lax, good luck finding a wall paper as sweet as the ones we create.
