Top pick Van Beek thankful for Thunder

he top pick in Wednesday's Western Lacrosse Association junior draft is excited to come to Langley.
"It feels great," Rob Van Beek said on the phone from Philadelphia on Thursday afternoon. "I just want to get out there and Langley is giving me the chance to do what I can do."
The Langley Thunder made Van Beek -- the former PoCo Saints' Jr. 'A' team captain -- the top pick at the draft Wednesday night at the Firefighters Club in Burnaby.
Van Beek is currently playing for the Philadelphia Wings of the National Lacrosse League.
The Wings had taken the 21-year-old with the fifth overall pick.

Van Beek was a middie at D2 St. Vincents the last couple of years. He always tore us up..
